Fan brushes come in all sizes and have many uses. I have tiny ones to powder my under eyes, medium ones for highlighter or blush and large ones for bronzer or all over face powder.

As an actual makeup artist I use fan brushes for numerous things mostly with powders to dust off excess product. Even to make interesting strokes in more editorial looks . Smaller ones are perfect for nose contour btw

I use fan brushes for the majority of my makeup. I have oily skin, and therefore use a lot of powder products. I like using fan brushes to brush away fallout from my eyeshadow, I use small thin fan brushes to apply highlight, I use a big fan brush for both bronzer and blush, and sometimes I’ll even use a fan brush for eyeshadow depending on what look I’m going for
