Having made its premiere at the El Capitan a couple of weeks before its wide release, early reactions to the film have been largely positive.

Now, a day ahead of the film’s release, Zootopia 2‘s debut Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed. With 41 reviews calculated at the time of writing, the sequel holds a 93% approval rating from critics on the Tomatometerputting it just five points shy of its predecessor, which still holds a near-perfect 98% approval rating.

Beyond affirming to fans of the original film that it was largely worth the nine-year wait, Zootopia 2‘s Rotten Tomatoes debut actually comes as a really positive change of pace for the House of Mouse, as well it breaks their seven-year streak of Disney Animation sequels failing to net scores akin to the original.

Debuting over the Thanksgiving weekend, it’s already projected to gross around $125 million, a $50 million increase from the first film, but with reviews also in its favor, it could go even further to become Disney Animation’s highest-grossing movie in years.

Revolution begins through education. Teach the masses they have the power, and the rest takes care of itself… mostly. In the documentary Cutting Through Rocksdirectors Sara Khaki and Mohammadreza Eyni profile Sara Shahverdi, the first elected female member of council in a small Iranian village. For the men, Shahverdi represents everything dangerous about Western-influenced progress; for the women, and especially the young girls, she is a role model for change.

Khaki and Eyni are granted intimate access to both Shahverdi’s life and that of her constituents. The film begins with Shahverdi’s electoral campaign, in which scores of women (and some young men) decide to go to the polls for the first time, for her. She is warned not to run by some conservative members of the community, but for the most part her very identity is, ironically, a shield; dismissed as a quirky neighbor who doesn’t know how to mind her own business, Shahverdi cruises to victory. Through her campaign, Khaki and Eyni deliver the reminder that, sometimes all it takes to engender political power is the desire to speak earnestly for those you represent.

Cutting Through Rocks is a Film of Inspiration Through the Power of Struggle

But, once in power, she finds it quite difficult to push forward her progressive agenda, some of which includes even simple tasks like replacing corrugated doors. Shahverdi, who passionately advocates for female empowerment through education and the riding of motorcycles, is also divorced, and spearheads an effort to stop child marriages. The latter of which especially rankles feathers; the film’s final act mostly covers how Shahverdi takes in a young married girl intent on divorce from a man twenty-three years her senior. Doing so causes a chain reaction of inter-family rifts and fights which threaten to get physical at any given moment.

In so many ways, Shahverdi is an exceptional subject for a documentary. A charismatic, bullish and boisterous woman with an acerbic sense of humor, the 37-year-old is fearless and well-spoken. Emblematic as she is of Iran’s burgeoning changes both socially and politically, she gives us access to a universal struggle for gender equality. But her effectiveness goes beyond her mere existence as a woman; many of the men who vote for her are stirred by her promises for actionable policies. “The council has done nothing,” we hear from several prospective voters, and through this tiny village we see a worldwide problem of bureaucratic soft-pedaling.

But it really is in the effect on young girls that Khaki and Eyni’s project takes its most alluring shape. Shahverdi is invited to speak to a classroom of girls, where she warns them about the dangers of child marriage, but by the end of the film almost all of them have not heeded her warning. Is that a failure? Certainly not, nor those who are inspired by her have dreams to ride motorcycles too and enroll in medical school. Cutting Through Rocks‘ title may refer to the difficulty of effecting change, but that doesn’t mean change can’t occur. It depends on what your weapon is to cut through that rock, and whoever is on the other side. Now, suddenly, they can see a path forward. Who knows who they will influence, in turn.

Luke Grimes is back in action in the first trailer for the new harrowing Yellowstone instalments, Y: Marshals. The upcoming series, created by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser and Spencer Hudnut, picks up sometime after the events of the mainline show’s series finale, in which Grimes’ Kayce Dutton finds himself pondering what his purpose should be beyond the ranch.

This leads Kayce to join the US Marshals, mixing his skills as a ranch cowboy with those of being a Navy SEAL veteran to deal with various law enforcement issues across the state. Alongside Grimes, the Y: Marshals cast includes new and returning faces from the Yellowstone franchise, including Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, Tatanka Means, Brecken Merrill as Tate, Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater and Mo Brings Plenty as Mo.

With just over three months remaining until its March 1 premiere, CBS has released the official Y: Marshals trailer. Beyond just a push for more consistent action set pieces in comparison to its companion series, one of the main things the Y: Marshals trailer finally gives a better look at is just how it will carry on from the Yellowstone final series. For starters, the Broken Rock Indian Reservation looks to remain a key player in the spinoff’s storywith Kayce seen helping to manage some kind of conflict between reservation members and other ranchers.

This is further supported by the fact that Rainwater is set to be a series regular star across Y: Marshals‘ debut season. While it could be argued that Kayce’s continued living on the East Ranch makes it so the two will inadvertently interact, it would be sensible for Rainwater to come to Kayce more often in the hopes of working to keep the peace between the Reservation and those around themespecially now that they hold the biggest piece of land in the state.

One thing the trailer doesn’t make clear, however, is whether Kelsey Asbille’s Monica will be back for Y: Marshals. Considering Kayce looks to be in a somewhat distraught mental space near the start of the trailer, and Tate’s brief appearance is one of angry glaring, there is the possibility that the two have separated since the Yellowstone final. Considering how well-liked both the character and the relationship between her and Kayce was in the original series, it seems unlikely that the spinoff will explain her absence as stemming from Monica’s death.

Y: Marshals premieres on CBS on March 1.

Fallout 4 has just celebrated its 10th birthday following the reveal of it Anniversary Edition on Fallout Day in October. Unfortunately, the Anniversary Edition release was something of a disaster, with the accompanying update subsequently earning Fallout 4 negative reviews due to a deluge of new bugs. Another update has now been pushed to start the process of polishing the RPG.

Developer Bethesda Game Studios posted patch notes on social media for the new Fallout 4 update, which was released on November 21 and is being referred to as Patch 1.”The team is focused on DLC installation issues, occasional crashing, and general user experience,” according to the post, which also notes that the November 2025 Fallout 4 update paves the way for the Varmint Rifle to be added next week – “the first of several free Fallout 4 Creations coming to players.” Patch 1 does not address a common complaint regarding a mod storage space increase, which is being prepared for December’s Patch 2.

Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition Got Off To A Bad Start

After the single-player side of the Fallout series laid dormant for a decade, Fallout 4S ‘ Anniversary Edition promised a comprehensive version of the game alongside some new additions. The Anniversary Edition includes all the DLC released for Fallout 4plus a suite of Creations; ie, mods hosted via Bethesda’s official, integrated mod platform. The selling point of the bundled Creations is, theoretically, all the mods vetted for the Anniversary Edition are compatible with each other, injecting a host of new content into the aging game.

The Anniversary Edition has been a rehash of the issues that cropped up with Fallout 4‘s next-gen update: bugs and performance issues abound. As is often the case with the updates Bethesda pushes for its legacy games, the Anniversary Edition update broke a lot of existing mod compatibility, leaving the community scrambling. Perhaps even more egregious is content being removed; Dion’s “The Wanderer” disappeared from Fallout 4‘s radio with the advent of its Anniversary Edition.

The New Update Makes Some Fixes

Most critically, the new Fallout 4 update addresses a number of issues which caused the game to crash, such as when downloading Creations or when simply starting a new game with mods installed on a PlayStation 4. The patch notes continue with fixes for a handful of issues when saving and loading save files, followed by a number of UI and UX improvements, including eliminating soft locks that stemmed from navigating certain menus.

The patch notes are ultimately a rather short list of improvements, but it does show that Bethesda is working to address the issues. It likely won’t satisfy players who were upset that the Anniversary Edition released in such a poor state in the first place, however. December’s Patch 2 will likely be a bigger step in the right direction, increasing mod storage expansion to allow players to really dive into the Anniversary Edition additions in bulk. Fallout 4‘s November 2025 patch addresses some pressing issues, but there’s still a ways to go.
