Dr. Ayman Ashour expressed his happiness in celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of the Supreme Council of Universities on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of its establishment, stressing the importance of the council and the various sectors that include large scientific bodies to contribute to supporting the efforts to improve the educational system in Egyptian universities, citing the need to continue developing study programs in various sectors to improve the quality of the educational process in accordance with global trends, to ensure the qualification of graduates able to meet the needs of the contemporary and future labor market.

The minister intensified efforts to raise awareness of the challenges facing national security at all levels, through convening seminars and hosting national symbols in all areas to raise students’ awareness of these challenges.

The minister also directed the universities to pay attention to artistic and cultural activities among university students, and to expand student competitions that focus on the artistic production of students at the level of plays, videos, and artistic performances, and to develop the artistic sense of students, and to present these talents to the community, by organizing presentations of these works inside and outside the universities.
As directed by the minister, by forming a committee of university professors in the relevant disciplines, in order to present their information to the bodies and institutions concerned with the development of drama and media, as part of the implementation of the President’s directives to utilize university professors in the development of media and drama content.

Macedonia’s largest white stork population resides in Češinovo, a small farming village. As dependent on the success of the country’s agriculture as the humans who cultivate the land, the birds have made a comfortable home for themselves here, in the rich abundance of the earth. In The Tale of SilyanTamara Kotevska reappropriates a Macedonian fable about a father and his estranged son for a rich allegory about a contemporary battle of farmers against unchecked capitalism and global warming, in pursuit of a new kind of symbiosis between mankind and nature.

Kotevska, whose 2020 documentary Honeyland became the first film to ever be nominated for both Best Documentary and Best International Film at the Oscars, once more returns to the perennial conflict between environmental demands and moneyed greed. Her main subject here is Nikola, a sixty-year-old, sunny-faced farmer who has worked the land for forty-five years. Nikola works alongside his beloved wife, Jana, growing potatoes, tobacco, watermelon, peppers, cabbage and tomatoes, but their abundant success is mostly for naught when confronted with the outright exploitation of buyers and sellers on the open market. Despite record-breaking yields, the farmers cannot make enough money.

The Tale of Silyan Slyly Tells Multiple Allegories In One

In the fable of Silyan, a young boy refuses the responsibility to provide food for the village. His father, incensed at the rebuke of the family trade, curses him so that he may turn into a stork and thereby avoid having to look him in the face. The sky opens up, and, struck by lightning, the boy irrevocably transforms. Desperate to be taken in by his family but unable to speak, Silyan instead clacks his long orange beak and covertly helps his bereaved father maintain the farmland. In Kotevska’s film, Nikola has also lost a son to the appeal of urban living, but his real battle is in trying to adapt to a new world where his trade has become largely obsolete.

The film is at its most lucid when Kotevska’s images are allowed to speak for themselves, as when Nikola and his neighbor desperately use a metal detector around the land in the hopes of finding gold, in the same way one might look for food in a fridge that you already know is empty.

Nikola’s family moves away to greener financial pastures in Germany; his neighbors organize protests against the lack of governmental protection. Caught somewhere between wanting to care for his family and his natural inclination to operate as a steward of the land, Nikola holds off as long as he can before being, inevitably, forced to put his land up for sale. As a melodic voiceover tells us, Nikola bemoans his family’s abandonment while missing what’s right in front of him — his son, reborn as a stork. In a softly didactic and poetic manner, Kotevska illustrates how humans operate in the same way as animals, yet remain oblivious of their concomitant existence. Nikola and family point out for themselves just how human-like the storks are: building their homes from scratch, sharing food, protecting kin from the perils of harsher weather. Yet, it isn’t until a broken-winged stork shows up on Nikola’s doorstep that he really, truly, starts to see the animal as his neighbor.

Considering the film’s source material and Kotevska’s predisposed inclination towards the esoteric, The Tale of Silyan can sometimes feel pulled between its fictional aesthetic and its documentary canvas. The neither here-nor-there approach does threaten to derail this almost Biblical-like allegory from finding its footing. The film is at its most lucid when Kotevska’s images are allowed to speak for themselves, as when Nikola and his neighbor desperately use a metal detector around the land in the hopes of finding gold, in the same way one might look for food in a fridge that you already know is empty. During a protest, the farmers toss their unsold food — three tons of potatoes for Nikola’s family — onto the road, literally blocking the land with the fruits of their labor.

In one of the more devastating successions of images, Nikola resorts to driving an excavator at a landfill site, where he witnesses how the storks are also forced to mine for sustenance among the waste. Meanwhile, Nikola’s neighbors burn their crops and trees because the insurance payout is far more lucrative than what they can earn by tilling. Although Kotevska’s film ends with unabashed optimism both for the farmer and his relationship to his estranged son, a pallor of unmistakable pessimism prevails. If our world is to survive the growing disparity between the haves and the have-nots as well as the drastic changes to the land brought on by mass pollution, perhaps we ought to be fighting multiple battles at once. Like Silyan, we must accept our new status. Like Nikola, we must be resilient. Like storks, we continue to rely on each other for warmth.

Disney revealed the titles of each Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 episodes–and book fans will be very happy by this announcement. Rick Riordan, who wrote the Percy Jackson book series, is very involved in the TV show adaptation as an executive producer.

Aside from excelling at epic fantasy stories, the author is known for adding plenty of humor to his books, which was evident in the episode titles during the first season.

Now, with the second season of Percy Jackson just weeks away from premiering, the episode titles have been revealed, continuing the trend of hilarious phrases to get fans invested in the characters and storylines.

The Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 premiere will be called “I Play Dodgeball with Cannibals.” The remaining episodes have the following comedic titles: “Demon Pigeons Attack” (episode 2), “We Board the Princess Andromeda” (episode 3), “Clarisse Blows Up Everything” (episode 4), “We Check In to CC’s Spa & Resort” (episode 5), “Nobody Gets the Fleece” (episode 6), “I Go Down with the Ship” (episode 7) and “The Fleece Works Its Magic Too Well” (episode 8).

Two Percy Jackson films directed by Chris Columbus and Thor Freudenthal were released in 2010 and 2013, but fans criticized the filmmakers for not being faithful to the books. Riordan was not involved with the movies and has distanced himself from those adaptations. Bat-Fam is a surprisingly exciting DC series that had me on board from the first episode. Before watching the show, the animation style suggested a lighter take on Batman could work. However, Bat-Fam defied all expectations. The show works primarily because it is full of heart.

Bat-Fam sets itself apart from other animated Batman TV shows due to its focus on the Bat-Family. That said, the show’s version of the classic team is quite different from what fans are used to. Nevertheless, it all works to create a fresh entry in Batman’s long history of adaptations. The DC series is fun, hilarious, and just a blast to get through.

The show is aimed at a younger audience, although there is enjoyment for viewers of all ages. Still, those looking for faithful Batman projects in the vein of Matt Reeves’ The Batmanor the animated Batman: Caped Crusader and Batman: The Animated Serieswill not find that here.

Bat-Fam’s Cast Of Characters Is Pitch-Perfect, Though Unexpected

I was initially confused about the show’s changes to the comic book version of the Bat-Family. Webtoon’s hit comic series, Batman: Wayne Family Adventuresunderscores how the core cast of the Bat-Family from the comics could work extremely well in a more light-hearted tone, much in the vein of Prime Video’s Bat-Fam.

Characters like Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood were sorely missed as part of the core cast Bat-Fam. But it’s clear the DC series was trying to honor the comics while also doing something new within the Batman mythos. It’s appreciated, and it works in the series’ favor.

Ra’s al Ghul is the funniest character in the show, with the new Batman series making him a ghost who haunts Wayne Manor, plotting opportunities to strike against Batman, while also being a loving grandfather to the young Damian. Volcana’s story, of being a former villain trying to fit in as part of the Bat-Family, and the bonds she forms are heartwarming.

Luke Wilson voicing a paternal version of Batman is something I never knew I needed until getting that in the show. Wilson makes Bruce Wayne hilarious, capable, and an understanding mentor to the younger characters. With Batman often emotionally closed off in animated and live-action projects, it is great to see how much he cares in Bat-Fam.

Other characters include Man-Bat, who has the best one-liners on the show, Alfred Pennyworth, who is once again a lovely caretaker for the Bat-Family, Alicia Pennyworth, Alfred’s niece and Bruce Wayne’s childhood best friend, and Selina, who’s not Catwoman but a cat. With a surprising Bat-Family cast, a stylized design, and a nice dose of humor, Bat-Fam is a breath of fresh air.

Bat-Fam Does Not Forget Batman Action Despite Its Lighter Approach

Bat-Fam also approaches the action beats the character is known for in a way that is imaginative. The series features several Gotham City villains, such as the Joker, Mad Hatter, Clayface, Killer Croc, and more. Batman fights many of them throughout the series, with creative action set pieces.

As Little Batman, Damian Wayne never backs down from a fight, trying to prove himself after getting his new title in 2023’s Merry Little Batmanthe movie Bat-Fam spun out of. However, given that Damian is still a kid, he makes many mistakes throughout the show’s ten episodes, leading to quite a few emerging threats and kinetic fight sequences.

Bat-Fam does a great job of mixing humor and action, even though its focus always remains on telling the story of a found family of sorts. With splashier Batman projects like Robert Pattinson’s The Batman 2 and the DC Universe’s The Brave and the Bold Batman movie still years away, fans should absolutely give the underrated Bat-Fam a watch, even it is more than worth it.

After finishing Bat-FamI wanted more; it’s a testament to how the show really does grow on you as the episodes fly by. Bat-Fam is a fun superhero series full of heart that presents a unique take on Gotham City and Batman’s cast of characters. I hope we get season 2 and beyond to explore all this Gotham has to offer.

With the death of Rocks D. Xebec and God Valley sinking under the sea, One PieceS ‘ latest flashback has just passed a huge milestone. Evidently, the next half of the flashback looks like it will shift the focus back onto King Harald, Loki, and Elbaph as a whole.

Interestingly, the panel depicting this moment is taken almost frame for frame from an older sketch by Eiichiro Oda.

This sketch was shared in One Piece: Volume 4 Billion, the special pamphlet distributed to attendees when Movie: Ed was released. While the fact that Shanks was found after God Valley and that he was a Figarland was already considered canon knowledge, leaving this crucial information in a non-canon film was quite inconvenient, not to mention confusing.

As such, the latest chapter finally makes this moment canon after well over three years, and it’s possible Oda’s been planning the God Valley flashback ever since. Seeing this moment recreated in the manga is also much appreciated as only a single frame ever of this moment ever made it into Movie: Ed.

One Piece Finally Fixes Inconsistencies in Roger’s Design

Granted, there are some differences between the two versions, the biggest being the addition of Shakky, but it’s safe to assume that Oda may have been planning the God Valley flashback ever since One Piece Movie: Red was released.

Having said that, other than the addition of Shakky, another huge difference between the two versions is Roger’s design. In the original sketch, Roger is seen with a mustache much like the one he sported at the time of his execution. However, when fans saw Roger at God Valley during Kuma’s flashback, the mustache was noticeably missing.

This did create a bit of a continuity error as well as the information itself Movie: Ed was accurate, but the depiction was not. However, that too has now been fixed, with Roger keeping the clean-shaven look throughout the God Valley flashback.

The manga also gives Roger his straw hat instead of his other pirate hat like in Movie: Ed and the sketch, fixing yet another inconsistency. While it may take One Piece’s anime a while to get to Elbaph with the new seasonal format, this flashback is sure to break the internet like Gear Five when it does get animated.

If there’s one thing that TikTok and the rise of short-form video content have done, it’s that they’ve given a platform to any number of creators that may not have otherwise had such a far reach, say, 15–20 years ago.
