Harry Potter fans all agree which movie is their least favorite

Harry Potter fans are mostly in agreement with what their favorite film is.

Harry Potter fans have declared which movie out of the eight movies is their least favorite.

There is a Reddit thread which asks Potterheads what their least favorite movie is, or what they just think is the worst movie. The majority have said that the sixth film – Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – was the worst.

That’s because it left out too much critical information from the books, which made it confusing for viewers. One fan commented: “Probably Half-Blood Prince since half the plot is missing, plus that idiot Burrow attack scene.”

While another begrudged fan replied: “Half Blood Prince. Favorite book, worst movie. Took out everything that was good about the book.”

Many fans have argued that the sixth film missed out some major character developments that were written in the book. For example, in the book we learn a lot more about Voldemort’s past and the lead up to him becoming the Dark Lord.

While it is touched upon in the movie, many Potterheads agree that it needed to go deeper. On top of that, the lead up to learning that it is in fact Snape who is the Half-Blood Prince is almost anti-climatic.

The book is very dark and while the film touches on that, it also focuses on romantic relationships.

Another fan said: “HBP is my favorite book, and maybe my least favorite film. This is thanks in large part to just how much they leave out, to make room for all the teenage romance stuff, which was in the book but as a complement to the plot, not in dominance of it.”

And someone else wrote: “The fact that they cut out the part where Voldemort asks Dumbledore for a job is just blasphemy. That was one of the best chapters in the books, if not the best.”
