The Ministry of Health and Population, through the Central Administration of Non-Governmental Medical Institutions, announced the closure of the “Al-Balasi” Center for Women and Obstetrics in the city of Al-Hawamdiya in the Governorate of Al-Jiza, in violation of the Law on the Regulation of Medical Facilities No. 153 of 2004.
Dr. Hussam Abd al-Ghafar, the official spokesman of the Ministry, said that the closure decision came after a clip of a video circulating on social media shows the doctor Muhammad al-Balasi, who specializes in obstetrics and gynecology, in a professional manner with a newborn in the operating room. And because of that, the Department of Health Care in the Governorate of Al-Jizah inspected the center, where it was found that it works without permission, which poses a risk to the safety of patients.
Dr. Hisham Zaki, head of the Central Administration of Non-Governmental Medical Institutions and Inspections, confirmed that the ministry closed the center and declared it immediately, emphasizing the continuation of control campaigns to ensure adherence to legal and medical standards, calling on citizens to verify the licensing of medical facilities and the professional practice of doctors before receiving treatment, to ensure access to safe and reliable health services.
