The study included 1164 volunteers who underwent all tests including magnetic resonance imaging for the body and brain. The researchers used the artificial intelligence technology to calculate what we called “the age of the brain” – and it is a structural indicator that reflects the degree of change associated with advancing age.
The results showed that the people who enjoyed the greatest muscle mass and the least amount of fat in the flesh (compared to their muscle mass) had “younger” brains from the structural point of view. In contrast, the researchers did not observe any effect of the lips under the skin on this indicator.
