The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives returns for a third season, and things are just as wild as ever for the reality show stars. When the show kicked off in 2024, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of the Utah #MomTok scene, it was a revelation in reality TV.
Similar to many other reality shows, there is gossip, drama, in-fighting, fragile egos, lavish lifestyles, and endless parties, but these moms have one defining difference — their faith. We know these women are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (aka, Mormons), and they all practice that faith to varying degrees, but the mention in the title is really more to hook the audience. As soon as they get together onscreen, their personalities and the dynamics within the group are what make the show entertaining, if not a little bit cringey at times.
The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives Season 3 Sees A Dynamic Shift
Over the last two seasons, audiences have become intimately familiar with the cast, from Taylor Frankie Paul to Whitney Leavitt, the primary villain during her freshman season. Since then, the rest of the cast have stepped into the spotlight, and a new villain has reared their head.
There is gossip, drama, in-fighting, fragile egos, lavish lifestyles, and endless parties.
TSLoMW season 2 ended in disaster as the group appeared to be irrevocably fractured. However, season 3 opens in a surprisingly peaceful manner. But don’t worry, that calm is just a brief moment before the storm kicks off, and the girls get into some of their biggest and most intense rivalries of the series. And of course, a great deal of that tension comes from the girls being forced to reconnect with Demi and Whitney due to the ongoing success and press of their premiere season.
It is interesting to see how much Taylor has grown from earlier seasons, appearing to be one of the most level-headed and self-assured members of MomTok. At the same time, previously picture-perfect families start to show cracks. Among the latter is Jessi, whose close friendship with Demi becomes a sticking point, and Mikayla, whose truly harrowing past has had an unfortunate impact on her relationship with her husband.
The Mormon Wives Are Blowing Up, In Every Sense Of The Word
Throughout season 3, it’s evident that these women have become so much bigger than when they first appeared, with events in New York and LA, new opportunities to guest star on shows like Dancing With The Stars and Jimmy Kimmeland so much more. And in the midst of their explosive success, there’s a major divide in the group.
Hopefully, they can keep it together for long enough to land the next brand deal and season renewal.
This season also digs into more serious subject matter, and a history of abuse is explored by a few of the MomTokers, and serious allegations of more recent issues arise. Ultimately, only the individuals involved know the full extent of what’s going on, and these are not to be taken lightly, but they will become central to season 3.
On a lighter note, it’s wonderful to see these women succeed and excel, and extremely disappointing when they fall back into old habits. Hopefully, they can keep it together for long enough to land the next brand deal and season renewal, and then go right back to the drama that keeps The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives show alive and well.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 3 will be available to stream on Hulu from November 13.
