Halloween is just around the corner and – to get you in the mood for spooky season – here’s a list of some scary films that will be released this October.
It’s officially spooky season and Halloween is right around the corner, meaning there’s plenty of time to binge-watch scary movies to get you in the mood.
October will see many new terrifying films released, and it looks like horror fans are in for a treat with this year’s selection of frighteningly fantastic movies.
The third film in the Terrifier franchise is releasing, as well as Smile 2 and The Front Room, starring Brandy Norwood. Let’s find out a little bit more about each of the movies to get you up to speed…
Terrifier 3
The third film in the franchise sees Sienna Shaw (played by Lauren LaVera) attempt to rebuild her life as Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) is in pursuit of her, alongside his new accomplice Victoria Heyes (Samantha Scaffidi).
The first Terrifier film was released back in 2016 and despite mixed reviews, it went on to become a cult film.
Its success led to the beginning of the franchise, with Terrifier 2 releasing in 2022 and becoming a box office hit, garnering $15.7 million against a budget of $250,000.
Terrifier 3 is coming to cinemas on October 11.

Parker Finn’s upcoming movie Smile 2 follows a pop singer who begins to experience a series of incredibly disturbing events as she is set to go on tour.
It stars Aladdin actress Naomi Scott in the lead role, alongside Rosemarie DeWitt, Lukas Gage Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Peter Jacobson, Raul Castillo, Dylan Gelula and Ray Nicholson.
The first Smile film came out in 2022 and received generally positive reviews as well as becoming a box office success, grossing over $217 million on a budget of $17 million.
Smile 2 will make its debut on October 18.
The Front Room
Singing superstar Brandy Norwood is flexing her acting chops yet again in the psychological horror film The Front Room.
She stars as newly pregnant Belinda who realizes her mother-in-law’s hidden agenda after she moves in with her.
As well as Brandy, it also stars Kathryn Hunter as Solange, Andrew Burnap as Norman and Neal Huff as Pastor Lewis.
The Front Room will be released on October 25.
