The National Committee for Elections organized, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, an educational meeting for youth based in Cairo, as part of the activities of the cooperation protocol with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the aim of spreading political awareness and deepening the culture of electoral participation among citizens, especially the youth group, which is the main pillar of the country through various electoral rights.

The National Elections Committee participated in the meeting with the judge Hazem Badwi, the head of the committee and in the presence of the judge Ahmed Bandari, the manager of the executive body of the national election committee, the judge Shadi Riaz, the judge Sharif Siddique, the doctor Ahmed Ibrahim Nawab, the manager of the executive body, as well as a number of members of the executive body of the body.
Also participating in the discussion before the Ministry of Youth and Sports were Dr. Muhammad Hassan, Deputy Minister, Iman Abd al-Jaber, Undersecretary of the Ministry and Head of the Central Department of Civil Education, and Randa Al-Baitar, Director General of the Youth Parliament Department, in addition to a large group of young people who are model members of the Senate and who represent the age range from 25 to 40 years of age from all governors of the Republic.
وفى كلمته باللندوة, the voice of the judge Ahmed Bandari, the manager of the executive body of the body, the greetings of the judge Hazem Badwi, the head of the National Election Authority, to the audience, and he pointed to the permanent emphasis of his presidency on the importance of organizing such meetings that aim to build a generation that is politically aware and educated, capable of active participation in public life.

Al-Qadi Ahmed Bandari, the manager of the executive body of the National Elections Committee, gave a detailed presentation on the origin of the body, its formation and its features, and the nature and mechanisms of its actions in the organization and management of elections and contests, whether inside Egypt or abroad, highlighting the constitutional rights that the body has regulated since its establishment.
The director of the executive body of the body also highlighted the efforts made by the body in the field of awareness and education about the importance of political participation, pointing out that these efforts reflect the body’s desire to protect the values of citizens and youth, and empower them to exercise their political rights with awareness and responsibility, starting from being an active partner in supporting the establishment of the state.
Among the activities, Al-Qadi Shadi Riaz, Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the National Election Committee, updated the database of voters, and how to operate it, noting that the authority was able to use modern means to ensure the accuracy of the electoral process without errors related to the similarity of names.
Al-Qadi Shadi Riaz also presented some examples of similarity of names in voter data, which is a common phenomenon in Egyptian society, but the National Elections Authority was able to use modern means to conduct elections and contests without a single error in terms of similarity of names, by using the non-repeatable national number system, which I explained in detail to explain all the security measures.
Al-Qazi Shadi Riaz confirmed that the deputy manager of the executive body of the National Election Authority said that there are multiple sources left to the National Election Authority to clean and update the database of voters represented by the Ministries of Defense, Interior, Health, Population and the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Al-Qadi Sharif Siddiq, deputy director of the executive body of the National Elections Authority, said that the database system of the administrative entities used by the authority to clean the voter database aims to create a reliable system, and added that the electoral centers are inspected under the supervision of the National Elections Authority with the participation of various stakeholders, to ensure their readiness during elections and referendums.
I witnessed the discussion of the manager of the executive body and his responsibility for the discussion with the youth participants, where the youth raised many questions and inquiries about the electoral process and the importance of their role in this process. The team praised the youth’s level of awareness and their eagerness to understand the political issues raised, and it was confirmed during the discussion that the election is a national right and obligation, and it is one of the basic pillars of democratic action, which contributes to the establishment of the state and the organization of the work of its national authorities and institutions.
At the end of the seminar, thanks were given to the young participants, in recognition of their interest and eagerness to participate in this important event, while the youth expressed their gratitude for the efforts made in organizing this valuable seminar, emphasizing the importance of continuing this type of meeting that contributes to enhancing their political awareness and empowering them to fulfill their national role to the fullest.
