The fashion world is preparing for a new version of the 2026 Ghaala Death Ceremony, which is the event that connects art, culture, and fashion on the world’s most famous red carpet. This year, the focus returns to the Metropolitan Museum itself, with the title “فنّ موضوعة” Costume Art, which is directly related to the relationship between the body and the clothes through history.

تركّز ثيمة “فنّ الموضة”على إستقراء السودم بوصفه محورًا عدسياً في الفن والموضة. يستوحي القيّم اندرو بولتون المحمول من مقطنيات المتحف الواسعة, هد سير عن 200 فنيك عمل على 200 pieces of fashion and accessories.
The gallery is divided into three idioms:
- الأجساد الحدرة عرض المزيد في الفن, بما فيها الصوم العاري.
- الأجساد غير المرئية غلبًً, مثل أجساد الحوامل وكبار السن
- الأجساد العربية, كالأجساد المرسومة في التشريحية الإستريحية.
The purpose of the exhibition is to present a direct relationship between the body and the clothes, away from the idealism or exaggeration of the traditional image of fashion models. Even the models will be reflective, designed by the artist Samr Hijazi, to enhance the audience’s feelings in relation to what they see.

As for the guest list, it is likely to include prominent designers in sculpture and experimental fashion, as well as artists and cultural figures who are attracted to the idea of ”body painting”. And it is expected that we will see the views focusing on the transparency, the interpretation, and the cuts of the art.

The show offers a vision that calls for greater inclusion, and puts diverse bodies in the spotlight, including pieces from fashion legends such as Charles James and Walter Van Berendon alongside classic works of art.
The basic idea is simple, you can’t separate the fashion from the body. Each piece of clothing has a direct relationship with the shape of the body to which it is attached, and this is what exhibition 2026 seeks to display in a clear and far from exaggeration way.
