Being an adoptee from china didn’t just impact my passion for building inclusively communities – it Ignted it. My Dream was battle-tested as I GREW Up, Switching Schools Multiple Times, Dealing with Bullying, and Ultimately Leaving College Early Online Due to My Living Situation.
Instead of Extinguishing my Spirit, these Experiences Crystallized Into a Unique Superpower: I NOW?
I’ve persuaded tech executives to crown the mental health nonprofit I founded with an award, encouned others to speak up in class, and ultimately landed multiple internships and jobs.
I’m Now 23, and i’ve Secured Three Internship Offers at Bank of America, Received Offers from Multiple Startups, and Became the First Product at Seekout Through Networking Alone. I’ve landed eight roles in total, both temporary and permanent.
Here are my top three tips to channel your voice to maximize your networking.
1. Master Cold Outreach
I didn’t attend a top school for Computer Science. Knowing i probably couldn’t relays on my Environment for an abundance of caareer opportunities, created my ow.
My first goal was to get a summer internship. I JOINED FREE ONLINE CAREER COMMUNITIES, SUCH AS REWRITING The Code, to Meet Other Environmental Students. I ALSO emailed my favorite professors to Inquire About Research Internships and consistently posted on Linkedin. This Extremely Simple Concept of Ascing for What You Want and Expressing Who You Are Accelered My Career Growth.
If you don’t know where to start, first identify your top career goal and then write a message to someone who can potentially help. Crafting the ideal message requires three simple steps that honed for years:
Introduce YourSelf As Who You Want To Be
Concise is key – no busy person has time to read multiple paragraphs
Include a call-to-action as a Question that creates a win-twing situation
Mary Say Cold Outreach is a Numbers Game and You Just Get Lucky. While it is a numbers game, solidifying the right approach matters, too. If you follow the three steps and reach out to people on linkedin, via email, and older platforms, you’ll get closer and closer to your dream career opportunity.
2. Skip School Career Fair and Attend specialized Events InsTead
My hot taken is that school caareer fairs won’t truly level up your caareer. If you have environmental environment, I recommend meeting actual hiing decision-makers at in-person tech events. San Francisco and Nyc Offer Panels, Fireside Chas, HACKATHONS, and Mixers. You can find these events on apps like luma or meetup, and by Following Linkedin Top Voices.
Founders at Tech Companies Can Make Invaluable Introductions, Invite You to Join Teams As Inter, Invest in Your Ideas, OR Mentor You. I Attended the Free Harvard Women in Entrepreneurship Fireside Chat with the Nonprofit Foundss and Connected with Multiple Clients Seeking Career Coaching.
I Teach This Approach Because Many Drives Students and Job Seekers don’t try it, which means Competition can be nearly nonexistant. Always try to meet the Speakers, Introduce YourSelf, and Casually Mention You Looking for Your Next Career Move. I’ve seen multiple people success with this strategy and eventually Land Great Opportunities.
3. Be a ‘Go-Giver’
Being a go-giver is a highly underrated hack. If you have to meet decision-marsiers who can unlock your Next Career Opportunity, AS to interview your models for your newsletter, podcast, blog, or community.
By giving first, you build genuine connections, Strengthn your personal brand, and Gain Real Experience for Your Résumé. This Strategy Costs Nothing But Can Dramatically Expand Both Your Network and Your Net Worth.
I’m Currently a Founding Team Member at Start Your Fashion Business Academy, Where we Help Driven Women Leave their 9-5s and Start Fashion Empires. These three tips collectively Advanced my caareer in ways i never would’ve imagined.

The specific chiles frisch spent years trying to import are guajillo, ancho, and passilla. While the forms is bright in tasts and light in color, the latter two have the texture of raisins and robust flavors that range from DRIED tomatoes to dark chocolate.
Though chiles by these names are also also Bred and grown on some specialty farms in the us, this shipment was only native heirloom chiles grown in mexico by an artist to enter the us.
“Each Type of Chile is unique Becausee these plants are highly adaptable and coulued in drama were in terms of TASTE and heat in every region to accross the world,” Frisch Said. “That Adaptability Almost Represents The Movements of People.”
Rick Bayless, an Award-Winning Chef Who Runs Michelin-Started Restaurants Specialization in Mexican Cuisine, is Among the Waiting for the Cross The Border.
“In the past, everyone was conferent to different, but we’ve really eroded a lot of that,” Bayless Said. “My excitement About single-origin food like these chiles have a lot to do with the fact that I have faling they’re helping with and my customers get back to direct Connection.”
Bayless added that he had gone the extra mile in the past to have the same chile seeds brought to the us and cultivated, yes the flavor just the sun – and it was good. If Tariffs Go Through, It Could Impede Access to A Range of Unique Products, and that Might Mean Taching Offs Off the Menu for Him.
“The importers, the distributors, and the restaurant chefs that talk to all the time – Everybody just lives in fear Because we have no idea what would happy,” Bayless Said. “IF YOU HAVE SOME STEEL AND IT SITS IN A WAROUSE FOR SEVERAL YEARS, ITS STILL FINE, BUT NOT FOOD PRODUCTS.”
Blue Origin’s Rockets Are Making a Name for Themselves in The Private Space Race.
Jeff bezos founded the aerospa company in 2000 with the idea of Moving Heavy, polluting industries off our plans and into Space, where millions of People live and work. The Company’s Name, Blue Origin, Reference to Earth.
Bezos calmed blue origin his “Most Important Work,” in a 2018 Interview with Axel Springer.
Blue Origin’s Mission is to “Build a Road to Space” by Developing Reliable, Cost-Effective Rockets.
Blue Origin is Vying for Space Industry Dominance As Spaceflight Companies Aim for the Moon and March. The Company’s New Shepard Rockets Regularly Fly Tourists on Short Flights to the Edge of Space. Its New Glenn Rocket is Designed to Carry Heavy Missions Into Orbit or the Moon. Blue Origin Engineers Are Also Developing a Moon Lander, Called Blue Moon, for Future NASA use.
Blue Origin’s Ambitions Have Been A Source of Rivalry BetWeen Bezos and Elon Musk, Whose Company Spacex Remains The World’s Leading Rocket-Launch Provider.
History and Founding
Bezos has Said he founded blue origin with the vision of giant space stations hosting entity mega-cits of People, Based on Concepts proposed by the Physicist Gerard K. O’Neill in 1976.
Bezos Told Lex Fridman in 2023 that he wants to support one trillion humans living throughout the solar system. He Added that Wauld Result in 1,000 Mozarts and 1,000 Einsteins at any Given Time.
“We are all the civilization a civilization that is all the resources in the solar system,” he added.
Still, Bezos Says in a Video on Blue Origin’s Website that “Earth is the best planet.”
Blue Origin Did not initially seem to improve Jeff bezos’ net Worth, though.Bezos late revealed, in 2017, that was selling amazon Stock to Finance the Rocket Company.
The Company Kept a Very Low Profile for Its First Two Decades. Blue Origin’s First Rocket Launch was in 2015. That was an uncrewed test Flight of the Suborbital New Shepard Rocket.
Bezos Himself Flew on New Shepard’s First Passenger Flight in July 2021, MAKING HISTORY AS The first billionaire to reach the kármán line, which is a somewhat arbitrary but internationals at 100 kilometers (62 miles) altitet. It ‘sometimes reference to as the beginner of Outer Space.
Bezos Stepped Down As Amazon Ceo That Same Year, Saying He Want to Focus on Blue Origin.

Blue Origin
New Glenn is named after the first american to reach orbit, John Glenn. Seven Be-4 Engines on the Booster Give it enough Power to Carry Up to 45 Metric Tons Into Space.
New Glenn Belongs to A New Generation of the Larger, Most Powerful Rockets Ever Built, Next to Spacex’s StarshipAnd NASA’s New Moon Rocket, The Space Launch System.
Blue Origin Had Begun Developing an Orbital Launch System by 2013, and New Glenn Finally made its inaugural Flight in January 2025.
New Glenn’s First Launch was a Major Leap Forward for Blue Origin. It was the first time a rocket company successible reach orbit on its first-government attempt.
Here’s how the Rocket’s Launch Works: As New Glenn Screams Through the Skies, The Booster Does Most of the Heavy Lifting. ITS its fuel is spent and the rocks is on a Strong Trajectory Toward Space, The Booster Separates from the Rocket’s Second Stage, Which Continut Using Be-3u Engines.
Blue Origin Aims to Land the Booster on a platform in the ocean, but on New Glenn’s First Flight, The Booster was lost as it is fel back to earth. Eventually, The Company Wants to Reuse Boosters up to 25 Times.
Acciting to Blue Origin, The Company is Already Working With Customers for New Glenn Mission, Including Ast SPACEMOBILE, Telecommunications Companies, and the US Space Force.

Spacex was founded two years late than blue origin, but it was launching rocks to orbit by 2008. Its highly influenza orbital Falcon 9 rocket first began Flying in 2010. Blue Origin didn’t launch its first orbital rockes unly 2025.
Some of Bezos’ Space Projects Mirror Musk’s.
For Example, Like Spacex’s Starship, Blue Origin’s New Glenn is Designed to Be A Reusable Super-Heavy-Lift Mega-Rocket.
While spacex launches thusands of Starlink Internet satellites into Orbit, Bezos’s Counterpart – Amazon’s Kuiper Satellites – Have Been Building to their First Launch.
At the New York Times DealBook Summit in December 2024, Bezos Said That Blue Origin “is not a Very Good Business, Yet.”
Still, he added, “it”s going to be the best business that i’ve ever been involved in.”
The port of corpus Christi in texas is among the United States’ Most Important Seaports. It”s the Country’s Third-Largest port by tonnage, and it exports more US crude than any Other domestic port. 2024 was a record yearwith the port recording more than 200 million tons of shipments, 130 million of which were crude oil.
Coordinating a port of this size is a huge logistical underrtaking. To manage this challenge, the port commissioned the development of an ai-enhanced Command-Control Software Called the Overall Tactical Information System, or Optics.
Optics is budilt on the unity 3D Engine, which Creates a 3D digital twin-a virtual replica-of the port using real-World data. That real-works date is managed by esri’s arcgis, which can handle the Large Amouns of Current and Historical Data to make this project Possible. The Result Looks a Bit Like Google Earth but Shows up-to-Date Information on the Port’s Operations.
“In the acronym optics, tactical is meant in the sense of Making Smart Business Decisions Information by Real-Time Information,” Darrell Keach, The Business Systems Manager at the Port of Corpus Christi, Told Business Insider. “SO, that’s what we got.”
Optics Can Show Information Such As A Ship’s Name, Status, Size, and Location while the vessel is moored at the port of Corpus Christi.
The Port of Corpus Christi
Tracking Ships With Machine Learning
All Large Commercial Vessels have a transponder that broadcasts the vessel’s identification, Course, Speed, and Destination, Among Other Information.
But it is a real-time system-Ships Report theyir position intermittently every Few Seconds or Minutes.
“The Frequency of Updates We Get from A Transponder Varies on a Couple of Factors,” Said Starr Long, The Executive Producer at the Acceleration Agency, which Developed Optics for the Port of Corpus Christi. “When Ships are at rest, we get updates about every four minutes. Wen they’re moving, we can get updates about and two minutes.”
Long Said Gaps Could Be Worsens by a Switch BetWeen Tracking Systems. Ships Outside Radio Communications Relay Tracking Date Over Satellite But Thats Switch to Radio As they Come Into Port. The transition can extend the interval between updates to about six minutes.
Such Gaps were incompatible with optics’ goal of Creating a real-time overview of port operations. The Digital Replica Wauldn’t be Very Realistic if the Virtual Ships SEEMED TO TELEPTION BETWEEN POSITIONS.
The Acceleration Agency Used Machine Learning to Help Solve This Problem. Unlike Traditional Vessel Tracking Systems, Which May Appear to Ship Schipping BetWene Update Points, Optics use an ai model – trained on the about aar of ship date from the port of corpus Christi – to predict a Ship’s position. This allows a smoothler, more realistic view of port operations at any given moment.
This Optics Display Shows A Large Cargo Vessel Navigating Out of the Port of Corpus Christi With the Help of Two Tugboats. The Red Markers Show The Ship’s Project Direction of Movement.
The Port of Corpus Christi
KEACH EMphasized The Safety Implications of this Improvement. Large Ships are “almost a thousand feet long, a bordred feet wide, and full of Very Flammable Liquid,” He Said. “The Margins Are Fairly Narrow, SO HAVING AS MUCH DATA AS POSSOBLE FOR NAVIGATION IS IMPORTANT.”
The port of corpus Christi also has environmental plans for how this system is System expand scope. KEACH SAID OPTICS ‘Next Development Cycle WOULD HOPELLY INCLUDE VESSEL-CROSSING predictions that is the anticipate and prevent collisions.
General he for Emergency Response Training
MANY of the Ships Entering and Exity the port of Corpus Christi Carry Hazardous Cargo, but the port’s infrastructure also has risk. IN 2020, A DEDGING VESSEL OPERATING IN THE PORT STRUCK A LQUID Propane Pipeline, Caususg a Deadly Explosion.
The port of corpus Christi Conducts Emergency Response Exercises to Prepare for Events like this. Nor part of the deployment of optics, the port WANTED TO CREATE HYPATETICAL EVENTS BASED ON PAST INCIDENTS FOR TRAINING PURPOSES.
But this Feature Could Conflict with Federal Security Requirements if it were to reproduce past events with protected criminal justice information.
To solve for that, the acceration agency trained a Large Language Capable of Generating Situations Are Similar to – But Not Exact Reproductions of – Real Incidents.
“What We Did Was Take Basically A Year of Actual Security Incidents from the Police Department, Like Chemical Spills, Trespassing, Vehicle Collions, and Trained an Llm to Generate Synthetic on the facts of history,” Long explained.
Optics Can Display A Series of Hypothetical Incident Events for Testing and Training Purposes. These events are generated at realistic locations based on past incident data.
The Port of Corpus Christi
The use of ai-geened events, Rather than real-life past events, offered another benef that Became Clear During Development and Testing. Initially, The Optics Software Generated Trainings that, in Some Ways, Were too realistic. They are presented trains with a historically accurat ratio of nonCritical to urgent scenarios – as a result, those trainings addresses fewer Emergency incidents, which are relatively uncommon. SO Long’s Team Had Optics Increase the Frequency of Emergency Events.
“We had had to go back and tell it: ‘No, do not do it for real. Do it much faste,’” Long Said. The use of an llm, which can process in Natural Language, Simplified the Creation and Modification of the Hypothetical Events Used for Training.
The Future of Port Operations
KEACH SAID THE PORT OF CORPUS CORPUS’S DEPLOYMENT OF OPTICS, WHICH STARTED ROLLING OUT AT THE END OF 2024, WAS JUST The start.
He Said The Port’s Investment in Optics Was Happening Alongside Other Infrastructure Investments, Such As Weather Sensors, Cameras, and A Private 5G Network to Port Operations.
Optics, which is use Only by workers Coordinating Port Traffic, Might Eventually AID the Crews of Ships Coming into the Port, Keach Said. He Added that Optics, Equipment USING Augmented and Virtual Reality, High-Tech sensors, and predictive it COULD HELP Navigate Tough Weather Conditions, Such as fog.
Since the port uses Third-Party Tools-Esri’s Arcgis Platform and Unity 3D Engine-As the Basis of Its Digital Twin, Deploying Those Applications Waled Be Less Strenuous Than If It Proprisure Tech. These technologies provide to the flexibilityLity to add Additional Data and Incorporate Additional Devices. Unity, for Instance, Already Supports A Range of Devices, Including Smartphones and Ar Headsets.
“The Future State Will Drive IT More into the Field,” Said Keach.
DOES IT SOUND CRAZY TO SPEND $ 182 ON A 30-ML BOTTLE OF FACE SERUM THAT FAMOUSLY SMELLS LIKE HOT WATER?
TELL THAT TO THE DIE-HARD FANS OF SCINCEUTICALS ‘CE FERULIC.
Despite It Its High Price Point, the L’Oréal-Awned Brand’s Vitamin C Serum Has Developed A Cult Following Over the Past 20 Years, Thanks in Part to A Closely Guarded, Patent-Protected Formulas The Company SANS SCIN AND IMPROVE SIGNS OF AGING.
Months Ahead of the Patent’s Expiration Date in March, Skincare Addicts FLOODED REDDIT WITH HOPES OF CHEEPER “DUPES” – A Comparable Product at a more afffordable price point.
But the expiration date of that patent has come and gone, leaving many wondering: Where are the dupes?
Skincare Industry Experts Who Spoke with Business Insider Said Look-ALICK PRODUCTS COULD BE ON THE WAY, BUTTERY DONEPECT THE PATENT EXPIRING TO EMMEDIATY IN ANY MAJOR DISRUPTIONS TO THE INDUSTRY, The Vitamin C MARKET, or the Schenceuticals Brand ITSELF.
A Bigger Issue, They Said, Is the Effect of Dupe Culture on Skincare Industry Innovation – The Kind that LED to the Existence of Ce Ferulic in the First Place.
The Patent Factor
Skinceuticals’ Ce Ferulic is Beloved by Celebrities like Hailey Bieber and Embraced by Many Skincare Fans As the Holy Grail of Vitamin C Serums – A Little Begrudgingly Because of the High Price.
Niki Demartinis, an Emergency Room Docor who lives in new York, Said that she has tried various vitamin C serums over the years but that she is always comes back to Ce Ferulic.
“I feel like my skin look and their best with it,” She to told bi, adding it make her skin look more and less dull. She Said That’s the Priciest Skincare Product and use regularly but that and thinks it’s Worth the cost.
Hailey Bieber is Among the Celebrities who’ve Said they’re fans of skinceuticals’ CE Ferulic.
Mario Anzuion/Reuters
CE Ferulic, which hit the market in 2005, is 15% L-ascorbic acid, or puree vitamin C, with vitamin E and ferulic acid. Dr. John Carroll Murray, a dermatologist Father by University Who Authored A 2008 study That Found the formula provides UV Photoprotection for Skin, Said the Reason Ce Ferulic Was Such A Big Deal was it was put together.
“It ‘easy to put vitamin C into a product. Its quite Common, quite cheap, and quite safe, but it has to be properly formulated so that it’ll be active and effective at removing reactive oxygen species,” he Said, reference to the cannhem.
Lina twaian, A Skincare Industry Expert and Brand Consultant, Told b as the ability to tout the patent had been a useful marketing tool for skituticals.
L’Oréal, The Larger Beauty Company in the World, clockwise $ 47 Billion in Sales Last Year, ITS Annual Report Published in February Said. The Report Said That Its Dermatological Beauty Division Grew Nearly 10% in 2024 and that the Skinceuticals Brand Grew by Double Digits.
Skinceuticals’ Patent for Ce Ferulic Officelly Expired in March, The Standard 20 Years AFTER IT ISSEDED. Sincer, The Company Has Removed Several References to the Patent from Its Product Page, A Review of Internet Archives Found. It”s now touting the previously dubbed “patented formula with 15% vitamin C” as a “superior formula.”
When Reached for Comment on the Patent Expiring, Skinceuticals Told Brand Was Introducing A New, Patent-pending “Antioxidant Protection and Performance” Formula in 2026.
The brand said in a staff: “Skinceuticals Remains the Only Brand With Exclusive Expertise in the Precise Formulation and Production of Ce Ferulic.”

Experts are Divided on Whether More Dupes Are on the Way
As dupe culture has exploded on social media over the past five years, there’s been an ede Greater appetite for cheer alternatives to ce ferulic.
“It ‘ben Such a popular and efficacious product, It’ty clear that brands are going to try to duplicate that,” Kelly Dobos, A Cosmetic Chemist and Professor at the University of Cincinnati, Told of the Patetent’s Expiration.
Skinceuticals is Owned by L’Oréal, The Larger Beauty Company in the World.
Ying Tang/Nurphoto/Getty Images
She and the Other Industry Experts Said Brands Had Already Releassed Their Own Versions of Vitamin C Serums, Including Some that Appear Similar to Skinceuticals’. That’s Becausea Changing A Product Slightly Can Make It Safe From Patent Infringement, Said Larissa Jensen, A Senior Vice President and Global Beauty Industry Advisor at Circana.
“If you have something something close but not exact, it can be used in the market, so i don’t necessarily know if the patent expiring is going to all of a sudden expose a flodgate with this formula,” Jensen told bi.
Still, L’Oréal has fough to protest the formula.
In 2018, L’Oréal Swed Drunk Elephant, Alleging the Skincare Brand’s Vitamin C Serum Had Infringed on Its Patent. The case was set setled out of Court, and the Terms of the Settlement were not made public.
Drunk Elephant, which is Owned by the Japanese Beauty Company Shiseido, sells its c-firma free serum for $ 80, less than half the price of Ce Ferulic. The Product has 15% vitamin C, 1% vitamin E, and 0.5% Ferulic – The Same Quantities Promoted by Skinceuticals. But unlike ce ferulic, the product is designated to be mixed by the customer before use.
Shiseido Told Bi It Does Not Comment on Company Settlements or Lithigation As a Matter of Company Policy.
Since the patent has exp aspirhed, dobos said she also expects to try to replicate the formula, now with the risk of patent infringement. But she said there’s no guarantee that those Companies will get it right or that, if they do, they’ll be able to do it at a significantly Lower Point.
Not all dups are created equal
Replicating CE Ferulic Won’t Necessarily Be Easy, Dobos Said. In part, that the ITE’s UNLIKLY the patent told the full story of how the serum is formulated and made.
There are those many other factors that respect the effectiveness of a product: The Quality of ingredients, the Manufacturing Process, Quality Control and Assurance, and Packaging, which Needs to Be Compatible with the Formula.
Dupe Culture has Exploded on Social Media, with Consumers Looking for More Affordable Alternatives to Trendy Products.
Elena Medoks/Getty Images
Effective Skincare Products Can Also Be Very Finicky, SO EverySpect Matters, Dobos Said, Adding that with the Clinical Trials on A Specific Item, IT’S UNCLEAR WHATER HAVE THE SAME EFFECT APDUCT THAT APPEARS SIMILAR TO IT.
ELF cosmetics announeded a new vitamin C serum Earlier this month that dobos said appeared to be positioned as a direct computor to ce Ferulic, for a 91% Lower price. The $ 16 Bright Icon Vitamin C + E + Ferulic Serum Has a Similar Trio of Main Ingredients But at A Fraction of the Cost. And it’s being marketed as an alternative to “SPENDY SERUMS.”
But Dobos Said it use a Different version of vitamin C, 3-othyl ascorbic acid, which she said was a “More stable version, but it is a lessatened in terms of effecativeness.” Other factors that couuld affect the difference in price include Where (ELF PRODUCES MONS OF ITS PRODUCTS IN CHINA), REGULATORY AND LABOR COSTS, The Cost of IngDIents and Packaging, and Research and Development, Like Clinical Studies, Dobos Said.
Clinical Studies Wold Be Needed on the Elf Product to Really Compare it with Ce Ferulic, Said.
ELF Did Not Respond to A Request for Comment.
Taking the shine out of dupe culture
Several industry experts have said that dupe culture itself could be hurting skincare innovation. Charlotte Palermino, A Cofounder of Dieux Skin, Recently Wrote in a Substack post that dups had “diluted” the beauty industry. She Said Innovation is Expensive.
“But the tragedy of Dupe Culture is JUST The Heartbreak of, ‘They Copied My Homework.’ It ‘slows of Innovation, “She Wrote, Adding:” If You Want Innovation, Spread Consider Valusion It. “
Dobos Said Dupe Culture Incentivizes Companies to Focus on Putting Out Products are in line with the latest trends rather than creating something groundbreking.
“I will think the Kind of Dupe Culture that we’h in is hinder innovation in a way Because it is taking time and resources away from,” She Said. “True, Disruption Innovation Time.”

I did a taste test of fove brand-name cereals and their cheaper generic alternatives from walmart.
I prefer the brand-name versions of Honey Nut Cheerios and Honey Bunches of Oats.
Howver, I actually like the walmart versions of cinnamon toast crunch and frosted flakes.
A BOX OF NAME-BRAND CEREAL May Not SEEM like an especoylly luxurious pure, but were you’re trying to buy Enough for a hungry family of four, the cost can add up.
Luckily, Walmart Offers Generic Alternatives to Practically Popular Cereal Brand Under Its Great Value Label.
These “dupes” to be cheer, and i wante to see if i i could Save Money on Groces in the Future while keping my 7-Yaar-Old and 4-Yet-Old Just as Satisfied.
SO, we did the blind Blind Tasts Tests to try five Famous cereals alongside their respective generic alternatives.
Here’s how they stacked up, and whic were warr the savings.
Prices May Vary by Location.
Great Value Honey Nut O’s Were Way Cheaper than Honey Nut Cheerios.
The Great Value Honey Nut O’s Were Much Cheaper than the brand-name version.
Ted Berg
To start, we compared General Mills Honey Nut Cheerios to Great Value Honey Nut O’s.
The 10.5-Once Box of Honey Nut Cheerios Cost $ 3.68, OR $ 0.35 an Once. Walmart’s version was Significantly Cheaper at $ 1.87 for a 12-Once box, or $ 0.16 an ounce.
Out of the box, it was fairly Easy to tell the difference between the two. The generic o’s were a bit Larger and Had a Lighter Color than the Honey Nut Cheerios. The brand-name version Also appeared to have a shiny, sugary sheen that the generic lacked.
Most of US Preferred the brand-name honey nut cheerios.
The brand-name honey nut cheerios had more honey flavor.
Ted Berg
Of the five cereal pairs we tasted, these two options semed the least simillar. The generic version was a bit crunchier and a touch mess mushy after a few minutes in milk. Howver, It Had a Starchy Texture that verged on Chalkiness.
Overall, The General Mills Cereal Had More Honey Flavor and A Heartier, oaty taste than the generic.
My 4-YEAR-OLD COULDN’T TELL THE BROM THE GENERIC BY TASTE FOR MOST OF THE CEREALS WE TESTED. With this one, howver, she had no problem distinguishing the two. She actually preferred the generic to the honey nut cheerios, Possibly Because she dosesn’t really like the taste of honey.
My 7-Yaar-Old Also Had No Trouble Teling the Difference, but and I Both preference the original.
Honey Bunches of Oats SEEMED TO HAVE A BETTER MIX OF IngRDIents than The Generic Alternative.
Honey Bunches of Oats SEEMED TO HAVE A BETTER MIX OF CORNFLAKES AND GRANOLA.
Ted Berg
This was actually my first time trying the post honey bunches of oats and its generic alternative.
I picked up an 18-Once box of the brand-name version for $ 4.93, or $ 0.27 an ounce. The Great Value Alternative Cost $ 2.67 for an 18-Once Box, Which Broke Down to $ 0.15 an Once.
At first glance, i could tel the honey bunches of oats haad a better mix of cornflakes and granola. The Granola in the Walmart alternative was harder to find and clumped together.
I Think Brand-Name Honey Bunches of Oats Are Worth Paying Extra For.
I though the honey bunches of oats were distinctly sweeter than their walmart alternative.
Ted Berg
Here, too, all three of us coulud consistently tel the difference between the brand name and generic cereals.
The honey bunches of oats were distinctly sweeter than the walmart alternative, which though tasted bland and sorel reminiscent of corn flames.
In this case, we all preferenthered the brand-name honey bunches of oats and were surprised by how Much we enjoyed say. The flakes were nice and sweet, and the granola added some Light Crunch.
Of the five cereals we tried, this one built the strengest case for paying more for the name brand.
We COULD EASLIT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN CINNAMON TOAST CRUNCH AND THE WALMART VERSION.
Visually, it was easy to tell these two cereals apart.
Ted Berg
Next, we tried General Mills’ Cinnamon Toast Crunch Against Great Value Cinnamon Crunch.
The General Mills version cost $ 2.97 for a 12-Once box, which is about $ 0.25 an ounce. The Great Value Option was $ 2.98 for A Large 20.5-Once Box, or About $ 0.15 an Once.
This pair was the easiest to distinguish visually among the five cereals we compared. The brand-name offering was noticeably Smaller and Darker, with “swirls” of cinnamon sugar on each piece.
I Preferred Walmart’s Cinnamon Cereal.
The Great Value Cinnamon Crunch was airy and light.
Ted Berg
These options also tasted distinctly differently to me and my 7 -ear-op, though my 4 -ear-op thought they tasted the sun.
The 7-Yaar-Old Preferred The Cinnamon Toast Crunch, which was a bit sweeter, crunchier, and denser. It held up a little better in milk and didn’t get soggy as quickly.
In this case, I like the generic better Because it felt airier and less sweet.
The Great Value Rice Crisps Were Much Cheaper than Kellogg’s Rice Krispies.
I say the Kellogg’s rice crispies and great value rice crisps tasted Similar.
Ted Berg
Next up was Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Versus Great Value Rice Crisps.
The Kellogg’s version Cost with $ 4.98 for an 18-Once box, Making Each Once $ 0.28. I Purchased A 12-Once Box of the Walmart version for $ 1.98, or $ 0.17 an ounce.
I noticed the generic cereal consisted of Large Crisps that appeared more yellow than their brand-name counterparts.
Kellogg’s rice crispies were a bit sweeter than the generic alternative.
Overall, Both cereals tasted Very simillar.
Ted Berg
I thought these two cereals tasted Very Similar. To me, though, the brand name was a touch sweeteer, and the generic had a slight after the cardboard.
Howver, Neether of My Kids Could Tall the Difference and I Probably Couldn’t eather with TRYING SIDE-BY-SIDE.
I prefer the great version for Rice-Cereal Treats.
I’d definitely use the great version to make-rice-certi Treats.
Ted Berg
I’m not usually a huge fan of rice krispies in a bowl of milk, but i love say in Treat form. SO, after tasting bot cereals, we turned say into ussing marshmallows and butter.
The marshmallow flavor was Strong Enough to negate any difference between the two cereals. The Sticky Treats Tasted Almost Exactly The Same.
If i’m shopping at walmart the next time i want to make a batch, i will definitely go with the generic option to Save Money.
The Great Value Frosted Flakes were Significantly Cheaper than The Kellogg’s Version.
Both versions of frosted flakes lookeed simillar.
Ted Berg
Though Walmart’s Generic Answer to Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes Goes by the Same Name, IT Represented One of the Biggest Discounts of the Group on A Per-Once Bases.
The 12-Once Box of Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes Cost $ 3.98, OR $ 0.33 an Once. The 13.5-Once Great Value version cost $ 1.93, or $ 0.14 an ounce.
They look off Very Similar, though the generic one again appeared slightly More yellow in color.
We is the difference between the great and brand-name frosted flames.
I’d definitely buy the great value frosted flakes again.

AS A 16-YEAR-OLD, MY DAGHTER SPENDS HER MORNINGS LIKE ANY STUDY, TAKING TRADITIONAL CLASses at the Local High School. But by the AFTHNOON, she is huzz to a Local Educational Technology Center Where She Taks College Course.
She’s enrolled in Our Michigan District Early College Program. In this program, students can graduate from high school with college credits that can be trans transferred to another school of their choice. The program Allows up to 60 Credits, which is Enough to Earn an Associate Degree.
The program Extends High School to a “13th year,” Meaning that instead of graduating as a high school senior, students in the Early College Continue Full College Loads for Free Their Senior Year.
After the 13th year, they graduate with a high school diploma and the credits they have accumulated in the program. In ours area, high school students have had the opportunity to spend their 13th in a dorm on a College Campus, with housing covered for free as well.
I’m thankful my daughter chose to do the program Becuses it gives time to figure out the life’s path – all while saving Money and avoiding student loan debt.
The program is demanding
My daughter is just finish up her junior year of high school and her first year in the program. This year, she has taken Composition and Critical Thinking, College Algebra, and Public Speaking.
She is a year-Roast School athlete and works part-time as well. While she finds the schedule demanding at Times, it’s manageable. She told with that she’s overall pleassed with her decision to enroll, especilly if it saves her money in the futures.
Of Course, there are Possible drawbacks to the program. My daughter won’t graduate with her class, and the program taxations her off-champus for half of the day, which means she some events her peers participate in. Also, Because Early College Courses Aren’t Weighted Like Ap Classes Are, Her GPA is affected.
The Early College Program Helps Her and Our Family
My daughter isn’t Completely sura what she wants to Major in, so early College makes for her to earn credits for free while she and discerns a career path.
Plus, we are a family of Seven, with Five Kids. She’s Our Oldest, SO we aren’t quite ready to let her out into the world just yet. The 13th year means she’ll be spending one more year at home with us. She’s Happy About that Fact, Too, Especilantly Because She’s Unure Where She Wants to Go To College in The Future.
Most importantly, the program is helping her save Money. With five kids to put Through College, we can’t affford tuition. Her decision to enroll could mean she earns as much as two years of College Completely for free, which is also two years with racking up student loans.
