This Week, American Markets Fell and Rose by Tillions Over Over a Misinterpreted Cable-News Interview, A Few Headlines, and A Flurry of Misleading Posts on X. As the Chaos Continued, Harried Financial Professionals and Journisters TRIED TO PIECE TOGETER. How Much Trading Did A Sourceless Post from the Conspiracy Financial Blogger Zeroheedge Drive? Why, in the middle of all this, is the White House Damage Control by responding to an Account Called “Unusual_whales”? In any case, Somewhere Near the Center of the Conversation is This Clip of a Conversation BetWeen Fox News Host Brian Kilmeade and the National Economic Council’s Kevin Hassett:

We don’t actually learn anything specific about fees in this interview, which is, in context, a white house adviser responding to a leading from a fox news about a tweet from hedge-end Manager Bill Ackman. We will, Howver, Find Some Support for a Theory That’s Getting Stronger by the Day: Donald Trump is touring the market a giant meme stock that trades on what People imagine is going on the president’s heads.

Most People probably Associate Meme Stocks With Wild Markets MMIMONS Among Companies that don’t have a Strong conventional case for investment – not with anything Massive Index Collaps. Companies like Gamestop, AMC, and Bed Bath & Beyond Saw Their Stocks Shoot Up As Groups of Online Retail Talked Each Other Into Buying. They Told Wildly Optimistic Stories About How to Companies Might Turn Things Around, the substance of which was mess important than their existens as fun theories to be around. If Enough People Believed say (or ACTED as though they believed say), the Stock Went up. If they didn’t, it went back down. Meme Stocks weren’t categorically different from a lot of Other trading – Lots of flimsy and ridiculous theseses and social phenomena drive investment in companies with “fundamentals,” too – but they were more extreme. It didn’t take the long for meme-strock ceos to try to get in on the bit, whipping their stock prices around with fantastical plans and projections, Helping toir prices from attaching Too firmly to aneysing presently Measurable or, for Lack of a Better Word. Some Meme Stocks Fell Back to Earth, Others Muddled Along, and A Few SEEMED to apprroach escaure velocity, or at least achieve some sort of stable orbit, on the power of pure narrative.

Now, in April of 2025, if you step back – way back – you can tell a simillar story about the dow in the months sync. After Trump Won, Markets Surged. 31 Best Sunscreens Without a White Cast

    Chinea Rodriguez Sunscreen

Photo-Illustration: by The Cut; Photos: Chinea Rodriguez

You need sunscreen regardless of skin tone or location. Of course, when the sun is beaming and we’re spending more time outdoors, it’s the perfect reminder to re-up and refresh your supply. Always check your beauty products’ expiration dates, folks!

However, we understand how tedious sunscreen application (and reapplication) can be, considering that the recommended amount of sunscreen to use daily is a lot — the equivalent of two finger lengths to the face and neck combined. Not to mention, factoring in types of sunscreen, like chemical, mineral, or physical, and whether it will burn your eyes or not, adds to the difficulty.

The biggest issue for many sunscreen users, including myself, is white cast.

However, good sun protection is really about finding what works for your skin and lifestyle. That’s exactly what I was on the hunt for. Along with getting amazing (and affordable) recommendations from board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic and reconstructive Mohs surgeon Dr. Sheila Farhang, over the course of a few months, I put more than 40 sunscreens to the test. I slathered on sunscreen in the morning before Zoom meetings and before weekend outings and reapplied it throughout the day. The criteria?

    • It had to be lightweight.
    • The formula had to be comfortable (meaning it didn’t burn my eyes).
    • It wouldn’t leave me looking like an oil stick.

Type: Organic chemical sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: Up to 40 mins

Buzzy brand Naturium has recently expanded into the category with this sheer sunscreen, and it’s quickly becoming a favorite. Cut staffer Asia Milia Ware also recommends this lightweight formula, which is water-resistant for up to 40 minutes, in case you have a pool trip planned. I tend to prefer glow-y sunscreens, but there’s definitely a time and place for this matte formula that has what the brand describes as a “velvety, soft-focus finish.”

    Photo: Chinea Rodriguez

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Radiant | SPF: 36 | Water resistant: No

A lot of sunscreens tend to feel like they’re just sitting on top of the skin, but this one absorbs quickly and easily. This is perfect if you want sunscreen that doesn’t feel like sunscreen — it’s so moisturizing and hydrating, you’ll feel like you just did an intense skin-care routine. The finish is not too shiny but not too matte, either.

    Photo: Chinea Rodriguez

Type: Mineral sunscreen | Finish: Radiant | SPF: 40 | Water resistant: Up to 80 mins

I usually wear this sunscreen on its own, but it works well under makeup because it’s moisturizing and gives a little bit of a glow without adding extra shine. The texture is extremely lightweight and so hydrating that it feels like a moisturizer.

    Photo: Chinea Rodriguez

Type: Mineral sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 30 | Water resistant: No

You can probably tell by now that lightweight formulas are my favorite. As it gets hotter and my skin gets oilier, I don’t want a sunscreen that feels like I’m adding another layer of oil to my face. This milky formula feels incredibly smooth and light. I definitely recommend.

    Photo: Chinea Rodriguez

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Dewy | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: No

I love gel formulas, especially in the winter when I still need sunscreen but also need extra hydration. Boosted with ceramides, this gel formula hydrates and helps repair the skin barrier while leaving your skin looking extra dewy but not feeling greasy.

    Photo: Chinea Rodriguez

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: No

At just under $20, this is a solid option if you don’t want to spend a lot. It hits all my sunscreen criteria: It doesn’t burn my eyes or leave my skin oily, and it doesn’t feel weird on my skin. The lightweight, almost liquid formula adds a layer of hydration without feeling greasy. It has a slightly stronger sunscreen smell, but that goes away after a while.

    Photo: Chinea Rodriguez

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: No

The ’80s-inspired skin-care brand has quickly become a favorite, and each new sunscreen launch is pretty solid. If you’re a fan of the whipped or oil formulas, you’ll like the gel just as much. It feels a little oily at first, but it blends in clear, matte, and lightweight. It’s also unscented.

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: No

Take your skin care a step further with this moisturizer from Dermalogica. Deeply hydrating and boosted with antioxidants and peptides, it protects like a sunscreen but feels like a moisturizer. It promises to smooth fine lines over time, and while I can’t say it’s had immediate results, I do enjoy using this regularly.

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: No

I love Byoma’s affordable formulas because most are extremely hydrating, and this one is no exception. It’s a serum formula, so it barely feels like anything on the skin, and it doesn’t burn your eyes. It also has a natural finish, if you tend to get greasy throughout the day.

Type: Mineral sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 30 | Water resistant: No

“Their big thing is about not leaving a white cast,” Farhang tells us. Not only is it cast-free and lightweight, she loves the added anti-oxidant benefits. It includes “açai and green tea, which also help to decrease free radicals from UV exposure, as well as Rosa Canina fruit oil, which helps minimize the appearance of large pores and excess oil.”

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Dewy | SPF: 30 | Water resistant: Up to 80 mins

We have serums, we have tints, and now we have an oil. “I have oily skin and often don’t gravitate toward oils, but this nourishing blend from Undefined Beauty quickly absorbs into my skin and leaves me with a radiant glow,” Ware says. “I also love applying it to my décolleté for a luminous glow that reflects off of my body.”

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Dewy | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: No

Yes, the viral sunscreen you’ve seen everywhere really is that good. “I bought it for the first time in Seoul and have had multiple friends try it,” deputy style editor Joanna Nikas says. “Everyone loved it. It didn’t leave a white cast and melted nicely into the skin. Plus, Korea has much better UV filters than the U.S., so it will keep your skin protected.”

Type: Mineral sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 44 | Water resistant: Up to 40 mins

“I love this for my patients who have sensitive skin types. I use this after procedures at my office,” says Farhang. “This formulation also has hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the skin.”

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Dewy | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: No

The Unseen Sunscreen seems to be the general favorite, with a silky-smooth, almost primer-like finish. This was my second-favorite from the brand; the gel-like formula goes on clear and dries with a semi-matte finish.

Type: Mineral sunscreen | Finish: Dewy | SPF: 40 | Water resistant: No

Deputy editor Jen Ortiz is loyal to Ilia’s serum tint formula. Available in over 30 shades, the SPF has dewy buildable coverage so you can skip one part of your makeup and your skin-care routine.

Type: Mineral sunscreen | Finish: Radiant | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: Up to 80 mins

“This sunscreen from Kate Somerville is so hydrating and illuminating but doesn’t clog my pores!” shopping writer and editor Hanna Flanagan says. “It also looks really good under makeup.”

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: Up to 80 mins

This is many things: gluten-free, vegan, and water-resistant, but most of all it goes on without a white cast. It settles in with a mostly matte finish and without that weird filmy sensation you get with some sunscreens.

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Dewy | SPF: 30 | Water resistant: Up to 80 mins

The whole premise of Black Girl Sunscreen is white cast–free coverage for darker skin tones. It’s water-resistant and super-sheer no matter how much you put on. It’s one of my go-tos. You’ll get cast-free coverage and skin that feels hydrated, but also lots of shine, so if that’s not for you, there’s a matte version available too.

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Dewy | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: Up to 40 mins

Supergoop! offers an extensive catalogue of sunscreens — that’s pretty much the brand’s whole thing. At the moment, I prefer the extra-dewy glow of the Watery Lotion, which is exactly what it sounds like, a moisturizing, watery lotion.

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: Up to 80 mins

On the other end of the spectrum is a sunscreen that smells very good. Native also has a similarly scented one, and if you’re not averse to putting scented products on your face, these are great. This one smells like coconut, pineapple, and a trip to the beach.

Type: Mineral sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 50| Water resistant: No

This one is on the pricier side, but Tatcha never steers us wrong. The tinted mineral sunscreen is almost too runny for the two-finger sunscreen rule, but it blends in well. After I applied, it kind of felt like I’d done an extensive hydrating skin-care routine. No surprise there, though, since the key ingredients are hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. Despite feeling hydrating, this sunscreen is surprisingly matte. Nieves also likes it and uses it frequently but does warn that if you sweat, it will sting your eyes.

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Radiant | SPF: 45 | Water resistant: No

If you love the dewy glow of cult favorite Supergoop! Glowscreen, then you’ll love this sunscreen that has a pearlescent shimmer. This has become my recent favorite thanks to its lightweight formula and glowy sheen that’s ideal if you’re missing your skin’s warm glow during the winter months.

Type: Mineral sunscreen | Finish: Radiant | SPF: 30 | Water resistant: Up to 80 mins

Here’s another under-$20 rec to add to your cart. Ware also recommends this oil-free and radiant sunscreen. If you want the added skin-care benefits at a fraction of the cost, this sheer serum formula features hyaluronic acid and leaves you with a radiant finish. It’s lightly scented, if that’s your thing, and available at most drugstores, so you can even grab this last minute before your flight.

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 40 | Water resistant: No

Another favorite from Ware is this buzzy formula featuring beetroot, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin E for hydrated skin and barrier protection, along with sun protection. After being reformulated, the sunscreen is back and better and still cast free. Reviewers love the dewy finish and lightweight feel.

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Natural | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: No

This Centella- and hyaluronic-acid-infused formula melts into the skin, leaving it feeling hydrated and looking dewy, not oily. It also doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin or even smell like sunscreen.

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Dewy | SPF: 50 | Water resistant: Up to 40 mins

The recommended amount of sunscreen can feel heavy on your skin and, depending on the formula, might take forever for your skin to absorb. However, this gel formula from Dune absorbs quickly no matter how much you use and leaves your skin feeling hydrated.

Type: Chemical sunscreen | Finish: Dewy | SPF: 45 | Water resistant: No

This sheer tint is another favorite from Flanagan. “It has a light tint that evens out the skin tone and doesn’t leave a white cast,” she explains. “I also like the fact that it’s infused with hyaluronic acid and feels like an extension of my morning hydration routine.”

The culprit for the unwanted, ghostly glow? The zinc oxide and titanium dioxide ingredients you find in most physical or mineral sunscreens that deflect the damaging rays, according to board-certified dermatologist and cosmetic and reconstructive Mohs surgeon Dr. Sheila Farhang.

To avoid white cast, Farhang recommends chemical sunscreens that absorb “the UV rays before they get absorbed into the skin.” She also suggests finding sunscreens that are a blend of chemical and physical sun protection. Luckily, plenty of brands have improved their mineral formulas, so they’re just as clear as chemical formulas.

“I like to think Gail has held everybody together” on The Last of USSays Catherine O’Hara.

Spoilers Follow for the Sixth Episode of The Last of US’S Second Season, Which Premiered on Hbo May 18.

Given Catherine O’hara’s Body of Work, the News That The Canadian-Born Actress-Beloved for Role in Comedies Like Schitt’s Creek, Best in Show, Home Aloneand Beetlejuice – Wold Join The Last of US Was Unexpectted. But The Casting Paid Dividends. HBO’s zombie drama can be a Relationlessly depressing watch, and o’hara’s gail lynden, the lone therapist in postapocalyptic jackson, gives the series a pop of helps sell the jackson as a tangible, steadily rebuilding community. Gail brings a wry humor that pierces the makeup reality of the show’s world. In One Skene of Sunday’s Flashback-Heavy Episode, “The Price,” A Still-Alive Joel (Pedro Pascal) Drops in for an impromptu consultation a Little rudely, while gail eats a café. “You Guys Study Dreams and Stuff, right?” He asks. “Is there a ‘doctor is in’ sign on with like Lucy Lucy Fuckin ‘ Peanuts? ” She retorts.

Gail was specifically created for the show, and her presence emphasizs a few major theme threads this season: Joel’s Lie, Its Costs, and the Difficulty of Forgoveness. In flashbacks, we finally learn what happy to her husband, Eugene (Joe Pantoliano), an event that information her hostility toward joel in the Second Season’s Premiere. Joel and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) Respond to a Distress Call when they are enchounter a zombie-bitten eugene. Sticking to protocol, joel insists on killing the poor Guy, who Attempts to Bargain to See His Wife One Last Time. After Ellie Urges Compassion, Joel initially appeaars to Recent – Only to kill eugene once she and the Retrieves Their Horses. When Ellie Realies The Truth, She’s Devastaated.

The moment the mirrors the end of the first season: joel act on a decision that was to make and crafts a lie out of a belief that it is for the best. The Realization Deepens Ellie’s Skepticism Over What Happened in the Hospital in Salt Lake City. Later, Things come to a Head when Joel Trieste to Comfort Gail with a software of eugene’s Death and Ellie interruptions by telling the Truth, Shattering Both of them. “I think he’s a good man who just try to do the right Thing,” Says O’Hara from Los Angeles, Reflecting on Joel and HIS Relationship with Ellie. “She’s all he had.”

We don’t offten get to see you do a drama, especialy one as grip as The Last of US.
    Right? Gee, what a world.

Gail Gets a Big Moment Near the End of this Episode when she learns About eugene’s death and the Additional revelation that joel has been lyen to her about the Circumstances. What was your experience filming that scene?
I’m glad they didn’t use so much of the crying. I was crying all day long. It was very emotionally and mentally taxing, and i just wanted to do a good jab. You give it your all every take. It is a Very Sad scene, but it was a fun process.

There was one take where i didn’t hear neil Druckmann, who directly the episode, “Cut,” SO I kept crying into Gabriel luna’s chest. I JUST DIDN’T HEAR The Word, SO I Kept Going. I was just crying into his chest and it went on and on and on. He’s Such a Dear Guy, Gabriel. He’s JUST HOLDING ON TO ME. He must’ve thought i suddenly tourned Method and i was going to live all the sorrow a widow could feed. Finally, I Lowered MySelf Away from HIS Body and Said, “Okay, i’m sorry. Can Someone Say ‘Cut’?” And Pedro was on the Ground Laughing. Mocking with! I do’t know what they thought i was doing.

    Sounds like a fun set.
They’re Very lovely People. When you’ve got a great team in any line of work, it make you happy to show up.

You’ve spoken Elsewhere About Not Being Particularly Drawn to More Intense Material Because of the Headpace It Might Put you in. What convinced you to do the show?
When i Read Things, i will Think, Oh boy, how Much would i want that in my life? SO ONE OF MY FIRST THOUGHTS WITH THIS Script was, Will you have to meet the infected? It was nice to know i wasn’t going to. But i love the idea that there is a time a therapist in this world – and the fact that she would be only therapist in this town. How Could they Any Kind of Mental Stability Themselves? So the idea of this one person was just dark and hilarious to me. Its Just Gooding, Too.

Gail Mirrors Ellie’s Position in that Moment: Joel Made Choices for Her and Eugene that we weren’t his to make. How do you interpret joel’s decision?
I Shot the scnee with joel when he was comes in for a session first, and i think craig mazin, the showrunner, probably told me vaguely what was going on, but i was nasty and angel with no. So i’m like, What is up her kilt? But God bless her, she know what he did.

He had to what he did in bot Cases. And from my point of view, and i would go too, too, Having some semblancing of reality and justice in the world, joel did what he did to protest the People he loved. He waistive he was protesting ellie when he killed everyone else to escape with her. He did it out of love and care. Same with Eugene. He was protesting Everyone in the Town. That was the rule: when someone infected, Put Him Down. I think he a good man who’s trying to do the right Thing for the Same of Others, not for Himself.

I Mean, Saving Ellie and Killing A Bunch of People at the Hospital was Kind of Selfish.
But he’s saving her. He might not be saving everyone Else who Might’ve Developed a cure, but in that moment, i would think, If there is one person who has positive immunity vaccination to this Disease, maybe there are oters. So why shouldn’t i save her? I love her. She’s all he had.

I like how we learn in this episode that gail is prepy spiky before she loses eugene. We see this in the café scene wel’s nansing her about moths.
I know! IT’s so funny. “Finally have a moment Alone, Okay?”

Was that already in the script, or was that that something you brought to the character?
No, that was in the script. Craig directly that. It was Very Clear and Has a great sense of humor about it all – iTi’s very dramatic, but the moments where you are need in life are your dinner. AFTER DOING THERAPY-SECEND WITH PEDRO, I KNEW The Dynamic Craig Wanted from Her Point of View. In the café, she’s just trying to get a moment. He’s not her only patient, you know?

In the Skene, Gail is Reading George R. Stewart’s 1949 Novel Earth Abideswhich My Colleague Described nor The “Granddaddy of all postapocalptic tales.”
Wait, No, Really? That’s what she She reads to escape? That’s great. Boy, She’s All About Reality.

What’s Your Own Relationship with Postapocalyptic Fiction? Do you watch Many Zombie Movies?
No, not really. Too Scary. I watch this show and i’m like, No, no, no, please no.

One More Quick Question About the Café Schene: Are You Wearing Maple-Leaf Earrings?
    Yes! They’re mine.

Is that your way to sneak canadian pride into your projects?
Oh yeah. I’m hoping to be up there is next week, in fact. I love My Dear Country.

I do’t think i’ve ever consider the role of a therapist in a postapocalyptic society before. IT’S A HOLDOVER FROM CIVILIZATION AS WE KNOW IT, but with Mushroom Zombies Running Around and Everynding, Its Maybe Too Much for Just One Person to Have.
She’s Says that in the scene with Tommy when she’s watching the baseball game – that she needs a therapist for herself, but there’s nobody. I’m sura it was eugene for her. They got Stoned Together, and they escaped the reality of their lives, and now he gone.

    Is Gail a Good Therapist?
Yes. Come on! You don’t see anyone taking their Own lives. Oh that’s terrible, that wasn’t funny, sorry. Look how together that town is! In the Second Episode, when the infected attack, you see how prepared and supportive they are of each Other, just living the Fear of Horror Happiness. I like to think Gail has held everybody together. That’s how they’re aBle to do what they need to.

LAST THING: I ALSO REALLY ENJOYED The Studio. Congratulations on the Second-Season Renewal.
    Thank you!

WERE YOU SURPRISED BY THE RESPONSE TO THAT SHOW?
Yes! It’s all timing. You never really know how they are. So Many Good Things Never Get Seen by People, and a Lot of Crap Becomes Popular. But it’s so well made and funny. Set is so good in it. Everybody is. The which Oner Idea-We Shot Ten-Page Scenes in One Over and Over. It was so great and fun to do.

I Imagine Another great Thing About Doing The Studio is that it is in la, so you don’t have to be far from home.
Yes. And it won’t be affected by the tariffs.
