The Kitchen is coming to an end on the Food Network after 40 seasons and over a decade on the air.
The weekend talk show hosted by Sunny Anderson, Katie Lee Biegel, Jeff Mauro, Geoffrey Zakarian and recurring guest host Alex Guarnaschelli is saying goodbye in December and the reactions to the news came pouring in.
Biegel, who has co-hosted the show since its premiere in 2014, shared the news on her Instagram Stories and captioned the post, “It’s the end of an era.”
“Thank you so much to all of our fans,” she added. “The Kitchen was the greatest professional honor of my life and I will be forever grateful.”
After the network shared a post on Instagram about The Kitchen’s cancellation, prominent Food Network star Bobby Flay replied saying, “Thank you to The Kitchen and its fabulous chefs and hosts for holding it down in daytime on Food Network for the last decade. Well done everyone.. an iconic run.”

Jeff Mauro, who also co-hosted the show from the beginning, shared a long post reflecting on his time on The Kitchen.
“I got to spend a dozen years with my best friends — cooking, laughing, and eating life-changing bites from some of the world’s greatest chefs and cooks,” Mauro shared on Instagram. “I got to play Twister with Daniel Radcliffe, sing and strum with Trisha Yearwood, and spit bars with Vanilla Ice and Rev Run.”
Mauro gave a shoutout to his co-hosts saying, “I love you all and will cherish every moment we created together.”
“I didn’t expect to feel this sad, but my optimism for what lies ahead outweighs the sadness,” he continued. “More than anything, I’m deeply grateful and humbled for this immense opportunity that I will never forget.”
