Jurassic Park Creator Defends Show Amid Elon Musk Netflix LGBTQ+ Criticism

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is facing Elon Musk’s wrath amid his war against Netflix for featuring LGBTQ+ characters on its shows. The Jurassic franchise has released several big-screen films, beginning in 1993 with the iconic Jurassic Park. After three films, the franchise evolved into Jurassic World and expanded to the small screen, including the animated series Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous premiered in 2020 and ran for five seasons. The series featured young characters who traveled to Isla Nublar, but their trip was turned upside down when the dinosaurs escaped. Its sequel, Chaos Theoryfeatures slightly older versions of the Camp Cretaceous characters, with a final season dropping on November 20, 2025.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous creator Zack Stentz spoke out after his Netflix series was criticized for including a kiss between two female characters. It started when Lilac Rosethe president and founder of a pro-life organization, posted a clip from Camp Cretaceous and claimed the show was pushingsame-sex sexual relationships.”

Rose went on to call it a “blatant sexual indoctrination of innocent children,” and demanded a boycott against Netflix. This is similar to Musk and others’ recent problems with the similarly acclaimed Dead End: Paranormal Park for featuring a trans character as one of its leads.

Stents responded by saying that no one was pushing any sort of agenda on the audience, but instead that he and the producers and writers merely wanted to include the “full range of human experience,” and that full range includes same-sex relationships.

Stentz then directed his attention at conservative Christians when he said that the only thing he’s trying to “STP“on kids is that they are”stronger and smarter and braver” said they realize. What Jurassic World Being Targeted Means Amid War Against Netflix

In recent weeks, Musk has been on a crusade against Netflix. A famous conservative social media account called out the animated show, Dead End: Paranormal Parkfor including transgender content, despite it having ended three years prior. The former Trump cabinet member also indicated that he had canceled his Netflix subscription and called on others to do the same.

It appears that pro-Musk individuals intent on following his anti-LGBTQ+ opinions are now combing through Netflix’s catalog to see if there are any other animated shows marketed for kids that include LGBTQ+ characters and storylines. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is the latest target.

Dead End: Paranormal Park ended three years ago, the same year that Camp Cretaceous‘ final season was released. The sequel series Chaos Theory will be ending this November, so after this fall, none of these shows will be in production, and yet Musk and those who support him are still deciding to target these projects anyway.

It’s not like these shows can be canceled, but depending on how successful Musk is, Netflix could decide to greenlight fewer LGBTQ+ shows going forward. Before Musk’s crusade, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous‘ LGBTQ+ storyline received a lot of praise, with the show winning a GLAAD Media Award in 2023. That same year, it received two nominations at the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards. The sequel series, Chaos Theoryalso won a GLAAD award.

Our Take On Elon Musk’s War Against Netflix

Netflix hosts a wide range of content, including pro- and anti-LGBTQ+ viewpoints. Comedians Dave Chappelle and Ricky Gervais released stand-up specials on Netflix that included transphobic jokes. If they are allowed to have a platform on the biggest streaming service in the world, then pro-LGBTQ+ storylines should be featured as well.

People like Musk, who are railing against these shows, didn’t seem to care about the LGBTQ+ storylines when they were first released, which just goes to show how much of a non-issue this really is. Kids watching shows like Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous clearly did not find anything wrong with the storylines. It wasn’t until certain adults stepped in years later that it suddenly became a problem.
