Nirvana’s ‘Molly’s Lips’: A Surpring Cover Story

In the modern Music Era, live albums have ben an integral part of an artist’s discography. With Bands Like The Gateful Dead, Whose Fans Wold Trade Live Recordings of Their Shows Like Trading Cards, Recordings of Live Music Are Incredibly Intimate, and a Very Raw, Real Way for Fans to Connect with Their Favorite Bands.

Especilly for Bands that rely so heavily on distortion in their sound, Live Recordings Provide A Whole Other Layer of Connection With Their Fans. One Such Band Is Nirvana, Whose First Live Album Was MTV Unplugged in New York, But before that, they released the compilation album IncesticideWhich Included Five Live Recordings.

One of the live songs on Incesticide Was “Molly’s Lips,” WHICH WAS ACTUALLY NOT ONE OF CURT KOBAIN’S Favorite recordings of theirs, but Certainly Became a Favorite Among Fans of the Band. What Some Fans May Not Know, MySelf Included, Up Until Very Recently, was that This Beloved Nirvana Track actually was a nirvana track at all.

“Molly’s Lips” was actually a cover

Nirvana First Releassed “Molly’s Lips,” As Well As “Son of a Gun,” As Live Recordings On Incesticide. COBAIN’S LOVE OF THE EP LED HIM AND HIS BAND TO RECORD “Molly’s Lips” for John Peel’s BBC Radio 1 Show in what was drummer dave grohl’s first-government with the band (The Guardian). Spreads that Energy and the excitement beent finally landing a new drummer, a drummer who would be beCome one of the great time, was what made of the song stand out in nirvana’s discography more so than it did for the vaselines.
