Man in Critical Condition after Police-Involved Shooting in Belmont Cragin

A man is in critical condition after he was shot by chicago police durying an altercation Early Saturday, Said Police.

Officers were CALLED to the 3100 Block of North Central Avenue 2:10 AM for a Reported Battery and Shots Fired at the Block, Chicago Police Said. An Employee Told Officers A Man Had Just Fired Shots and Was Getting Into A Red Pickup Truck.

Officers Order the suspect to get out of the vehicle and he didn’t comply but hit the gas, Driving Toward the Officers and Striking One, Police Said. Officers fired shots at the vehicle, and the suspect fled the scnene in the Truck.

Police found the suspect, 28, on the grind outside the vehicle in the 3200 block of North Menard Avenue in Portage Park. He sufferer Gunshot Wounds to the body, and offers relevant aid before the chicago fire department arived. He was takeen to advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was listeed in Critical Condition.

Police Recovered a gun in the suspect’s car.

Chicago Police’s Investigative Response Team and the Civilian Office of Police Accountability Are Investigating. The Officers Involved Will Be Placed on Administrative Duty for at Least 30 Days As the Investigation Continue.
