Love Is Blind launched five years ago, and at this point, it’s hard to remember the “before” times. What was life like before names like “Messica,” “Bartise,” and “Sam from London” lived rent-free in our brains? Who were we, as people, before the sight of Cole’s fly-ridden toilet scarred us for life? And how did we ever live without this glorious nonsense beaming semi-regularly onto our TV screens?
In only five years, LIB has conquered multiple continents, spreading to far-flung locales like Brazil, Japan, Sweden, and the United Arab Emirates. It’s grabbed a bratwurst in Germany, hit the pubs in the U.K., and stopped for a quick summer vacation in Mexico. Soon enough, it’ll visit new locations like Italy and France. The bigger this franchise gets, the more the lore accumulates.
But who the hell can keep track of all these couples, let alone their relationship status? Only the sickest, most sleep-averse individual could have watched all of these seasons — locking those many, many names away like a human encyclopaedia for useless information! Well, in the words of the great Adele, “Hello — it’s me.”
Let’s catch up on 19 seasons’ worth of charisma and chemistry, horniness and heartache, weddings and divorces. We’ll relive the wild reunions and savor all of the little moments of kismet along the way. Here, for your perusal, is a thorough review of all the couples in the Love Is Blind universe, complete with updates on where they all are now.
This couple felt cursed from the beginning, when Sara asked Ben in the pods how he feels about political topics like George Floyd and Black Lives Matter and he responded by twiddling his thumbs. The bubbly chemistry was there, and God knows these two loved taking selfies (in the mirror and in front of their air fryers), but is that really a fitting foundation for a marriage? If nothing else, we can be grateful that this season introduced us to Sara’s sister, Lisa, and her partner, Kelsie — who wasted no time before telling Sara they were “struggling” with the match.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Sara wound up saying “I can’t” at the altar for all the most predictable reasons. She also ominously mentioned that beyond BLM and gay rights, she and Ben had discussed “the vaccine” and did not elaborate. Upon learning that these two did not get married, I can confirm that my blood pressure dropped several points.
Finally, we found it — the apotheosis of Love Is Blind couples. An infinity scarf that split in two, only for each piece to assume human form. Taylor and Daniel bonded over loving Christmas and Taco Bell, and they both look like they’d be right at home in a Wayfair commercial. Sure, they had that Instagram “scandal,” but were any of us really fooled? I don’t think so.
Relationship status: Married.
Of course these two got married, you fools! It was written in the stars, right next to a constellation in the shape of a Crunchwrap Supreme. And in a genuinely special moment, Taylor and her family took a beat to embrace their gratitude that her father, who was sick during the pods dating process, was able to watch her walk down the aisle. As the only couple from season 8 to get married, the pressure is on, but I think Daylor is up for the challenge.
I’ll just say it: I absolutely loved this pairing. Monica and Joey had immaculate vibes in the pods, and that bubbly energy never really went away. No matter what they’re doing — dancing, sledding, arguing about sock bins — Monica and Joey seem to have an amazing time. He opened up to her about his OCD, and she found solace in his support for her taking time from work to help care for her grandmother. All in all, this one felt like the kind of LIB relationship that could go all the way.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Alas, it did not — and I don’t think I’ve ever been so upset about a TV break-up. At the same time, the split was understandable. Monica wanted more physical affection, and neither of them said “I love you” before the altar. There was also that drama with Monica’s sister, which never felt totally resolved. After the reunion, it seems unlikely that they’ll run into each other at a Minneapolis bar, order some cheese curds, and talk it all out.
These two shared the strangest courtship of their season. Devin seemed all-in on Brittany until she revealed she’d once hooked up with a woman, at which point he immediately backed away (red flag No. 1). Then he swung toward Virginia, telling her the same story about his ibuprofen “addiction” that he shared with Brittany. Before long, they were engaged, but after the honeymoon, things slowly began to unravel — and not just because she clearly found his sneaker collection too extravagant. After talking Devin into a prenup, Virginia found herself asking him about politics — and his answers were … evasive, to say the least.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Virginia says she didn’t reject Devin at the altar because of their political disagreements (although that certainly seems to have factored in). Really, she told producers, it had more to do with their communication struggles — and the fact they hadn’t yet had sex. All good reasons! Nevertheless, Devin’s family was not happy. As one aggrieved family member put it, “I just don’t understand these girls.” Yikes.
Every cycle of LIB has its golden couple, and in season seven that was Taylor and Garrett. These hot nerds were locked in from the beginning — at least, after they got past that weird moment when he got awkward because she wouldn’t share her heritage. Taylor and Garrett felt like the married couple in the group from the beginning, and even when they had that texting kerfuffle, you just knew they were in it for the long haul. You know what they say — the couple that mouth-tapes together stays together.
Relationship status: Married.
Obviously. They’re house hunting in D.C. as we speak! And while both Taylor and Garrett have denied that the “wifey effect” is responsible for his postnuptial glow-up, the important thing is that it happened.
Tyler, Tyler, Tyler. How the hell did you think you could go on TV without all of your personal drama getting aired out on TikTok? Have you ever even watched the show? Ashley and Tyler might’ve bonded over their faith, but before long, his paternity controversy overtook the season (and LIB fans’ social media feeds) — turning Tyler into an instant villain. Ashley stayed by his side through it all, past the altar and into the reunion, but the stench of the scandal never really dissipated.
Relationship status: Divorced.
There’s no overcoming a mess of this magnitude — no matter how committed you are. Sure enough, Ashley confirmed in a statement that the two had gone their separate ways. “While I had hoped for mutual understanding and transparency in our relationship, it has become clear that our paths are no longer aligned, making it impossible for me to continue in this marriage,” she said. Separating, she added, was “necessary” for her “growth and peace.” Sounds about right!
Sarah Ann wanted to become the Bliss of this season but was just a lone patriot. She message Jeramey while he was still engaged to Laura, hoping to give their pod relationship a fighting chance, despite him choosing Laura in the pods over her. It worked out in her favor as she and Jeramey met up at a bar and “talked” until 5 a.m., causing Laura to break off her engagement with Jeramey when he lied about his whereabouts. Sarah Ann and Jeramey even rode off into the sunset on jet skis as they solidified their relationship at the lake party; the two were still adamant that nothing happened between them when he and Laura were still together. Sure, Jan.
Relationship status: Broken up.
The two confirmed at the reunion that they have been not so happily dating for over a year and seemingly lost most of their Love Is Blind friends in the process. At least that saved the rest of North Carolina from having to date them. Alas, they’ve since parted ways.
Amy and Johnny had the least drama during their time on Love Is Blind. Most of their journey was spent discussing birth control and figuring out how to tell Amy’s strict father she’d found love on reality TV. Even that drama was short-lived, as Amy’s father just wanted his little girl to be happy.
Relationship status: Married.
Of course Amy and Johnny said yes. Their families beautifully blended together at their wedding, and it was a big ol’ cry fest. Now let’s hope they’ve learned a little bit more about birth control.
Where do we start? Clay had to battle against Matthew, a humanized “Well, Actually,” for A.D.’s affection and narrowly won. Once Clay and A.D. met in the Dominican Republic, Clay explained that he would happily tell his future wife to go to the gym if she was getting out of shape. To make matters even worse, Clay believed cheating was hereditary; his father cheated on his mother growing up and basically broke any faith he had in an honest marriage.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Despite hyping up his bride throughout the entire wedding ceremony, Clay decided his parental trauma was too much for his soon-to-not-be marriage. How can we expect maturity from a man who saw his beautiful bride and immediately said, “Body”? He also mouthed her the word “No” during the ceremony, but A.D. must have not noticed since she still said yes at the altar. The reunion confirmed that they are both still broken up (thankfully, she didn’t end up with Matthew).
Lydia and Milton’s story gets a little rocky — fitting since they share a love of geology. They must overcome an age gap and get over Lydia’s real-life ex, Uche, accusing her of rigging the experiment so they end up together. All is fair in love and Love Is Blind.
Relationship status: Married.
Apparently, it didn’t matter what (or whom) this series threw at this couple; Lydia and Milton persisted, tying the knot during one of season five’s two weddings. Milton’s calm confidence is an inspiration to us all. Do we think they’ll move in with his Pokémon-loving roommate?
This couple also didn’t have a smooth road to the altar — as you might recall, they were two key members of a pod love square with Johnie and Chris, which subsequently exploded at the group BBQ. And although they appeared to have a fabulous time shouting that Johnie is “fake,” they still had issues on the home front, namely Izzy’s bad credit score.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Stacy called this relationship off at the altar, explaining that she needed more time to make such a life-altering decision. (She knows she’s on Love Is Blind, right…?) Though it briefly seemed like they’d remain dating, the two split for good while standing outside the venue since Izzy didn’t want to invite that kind of hesitation into his life.
These two were a picture-perfect pod couple — despite Tiffany famously falling asleep mid-conversation thanks to a mega-size bottle of tequila. And even after the honeymoon stage, issues like friends, families, and living in different cities couldn’t break them apart, with Brett offering to upgrade his already spotless apartment and Tiffany just … not dozing off again.
Relationship status: Married.
Of course they made it out! Despite a slight tailoring snafu at the wedding, these two get down the aisle and say “I do,” even stealing away to the bridal suite after the ceremony to consummate the marriage. May we all have a relationship as perfect and horny as theirs.

Zack and Bliss got off to a somewhat rocky start — that tends to happen when you propose to another woman, particularly the season’s resident mean girl, Irina. But after that relationship fell apart, Zack and Bliss reunited in Seattle, ultimately getting engaged on a boat (and fully knowing what the other looked like). But that didn’t mean their relationship was all smooth sailing — the couple dealt with their doubting families after quickly getting engaged on their already sped-up timeline, while Bliss considered whether or not she could get over Zack’s first engagement.
Relationship status: Married.
Despite Bliss’s father telling her to “never settle” before she headed down the aisle, these two are happily married, sharing their first dance to, of course, Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance.” Let’s hope their mutual love of owls keeps them together forever.
Kwame had two strong connections in the pods, but after getting dumped by Irina’s BFF, Micah, he coupled up with speech-language pathologist Chelsea. In spite of their mutual attraction, they experienced their fair share of bumps in the road, from Kwame’s disapproving mother to Kwame not wanting to move from Portland to Kwame’s continued flirting with Micah. Sensing a pattern here?
Relationship status: Married.
Shocking, we know! Kwame’s pre-wedding jitters are tamped down by big sister Barbara, leaving the happy couple to run into a sunset filled with pink kitchen gadgets and Rocky the dog.
No, Jackie and Josh didn’t get engaged on Love Is Blind like everyone else, although they did say yes to other people. While we saw Jackie get engaged to Marshall, the After the Altar special revealed that Josh actually proposed to a cast member named Monica — and he’s pretty pissed that she revealed that fact publicly. Nevertheless, these two got together after Jackie called off her impending nuptials and made a villainous Zoom appearance together during the disastrous live reunion.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Apparently, that Irish Goodbye with Monica during the After the Altar special had a big impact — just weeks after the episodes premiered, Jackie announced that she and Josh had split after their on-screen fight with his ex-fiancée. On the other hand, Marshall is now happily dating a doctor named Chay and living a drama-free lifestyle.
On paper, cowboy Brennon and fashionista Alexa don’t seem like they’d work — she’s from the city and he’s from the farm, she’s Jewish and he’s Christian, she’s an alpha who won’t ask twice and he has a historical fear of commitment. But from a romantic reveal and shared love of shakshuka their relationship only grew, overcoming family and friend visits and even drama from their fellow podders without many hiccups.
Relationship status: Married.
Alexa and Brennon get married in an emotional ceremony that’s the stuff of fairytales. Now Alexa makes regular trips to the farm to visit Brennon’s family, while Brennon is apparently more than accepting of his wife’s overflowing closet. They’re each other’s lobsters — a phrase that’s engraved on their wedding bands.
After suffering rejection after rejection in the pods, ballet dancer Colleen finally opened up to Matt, and the two got engaged. But they soon experienced some of the most explosive fights of the season, with Matt becoming angry about everything from Col’s continued flirting to her going to a bar. Things only got worse at the season’s bachelorette party, when Colleen revealed that she’d take a bullet for Matt but wasn’t quite sure he’d take one for her. Raven’s reaction face said it all.
Relationship status: Married.
Shockingly, these two made it! They both said “I do” at the altar, and Colleen continues to plié and jeté around the thousands of negative comments about their relationship online. As of the reunion, they still don’t live together; love may be blind, but it doesn’t always make for good roommates.
Pilates instructor Raven got engaged to grad student SK in the pods (and, thankfully, avoided the walking red flag that is Bartise). Their connection was a slow burn, with Raven preferring to lead him in workout sessions rather than build their physical connection. But by the time the wedding rolled around, Raven was pretty dedicated to the relationship, even opting to wear a gele in honor of SK’s Nigerian heritage. Get you a girl who can do both.
Relationship status: Broken up.
After SK dumped Raven at the altar, they tried the relationship again, with SK proposing during the season’s After the Altar special. However, shortly after, the couple broke up for the second time when allegations of SK cheating surfaced online. Word’s still out on how his overprotective mother feels about that.
Despite Shaina doing her best to tear these two apart (and Shayne calling Natalie the wrong name), Shayne and Natalie somehow made it out of the pods engaged and happy. And besides minor arguments about financial and wedding planning (Natalie rightfully barred Old Fashioned fountains at their nuptials), they had relatively little drama at home, teasing the possibility that maybe opposites really do attract.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Everything allegedly came to a head the night before their Old Fashioned–free wedding during an off-camera fight that resulted in Shayne telling Natalie he hates her and she’s the worst thing that ever happened to him. After an at-the-altar breakup, the two attempted to date, but that didn’t work out. This wouldn’t be the last we’d see of Shayne — he went on to star in Perfect Match, with Natalie claiming he got cast while they were still dating. Probably best we leave this one in the past.
Nick and Danielle seemed perfect for one another — after becoming the first couple to get engaged in season two, Danielle accepted the fact that Nick made his own toothpaste, while Nick accepted the fact that Danielle enjoyed wearing costumes and breaking tables. But soon the couple began arguing, like, all the time — they broke down after a party with their fellow castmates and after Nick met Danielle’s family. And that’s not even mentioning that they both seemed a little more obsessed with their pets than each other.
Relationship status: Divorced.
At the end of season two, Nick and Danielle did get married — remaining together throughout the reunion and subsequent After the Altar special — but quickly announced their divorce in the summer of 2022. What followed was a whole bunch of messy bickering in the press. Maybe custom-made dog socks are a red flag.
After being torn between Iyanna and Mallory in the pods, Jarrette chose Mallory … only to be turned down. So he pursued a relationship with program coordinator Iyanna … despite continuing to (maybe) flirt with his ex, “Mal-Mal,” at various group functions. Although they passed the family-and-friends tests with flying colors, the couple ran into problems when Jarrette’s thriving social life clashed with Iyanna’s more introverted nature.
Relationship status: Divorced.
Although they got married at the end of season two, the After the Altar special displayed some of the couple’s worst red flags, including a conflicting baby timeline and Iyanna moving out. They announced their divorce in August 2022, just two days before news broke of Nick and Danielle’s impending split. Couples who pod together get divorced together.
After a connection in the pods fostered a sweet double proposal (and a horny start in Mexico), Damian and Giannina quickly devolved into one of the most volatile couples in the bunch. They fought over social media. They fought over sex. They fought over feeling awkward! It’s no wonder Damian’s parents canceled on meeting her.
Relationship status: Broken up.
After Damian broke up with Giannina at the altar (and Giannina muddied her dress by dramatically sprinting out of the ceremony), the couple briefly rekindled their relationship but broke up in August 2021 as rumors swirled about Damian dating Too Hot to Handle’s Francesca Farago. Now Giannina’s dating Bachelor in Paradise alum Blake Horstmann, while Damian most recently attempted to date Francesca on Perfect Match (to no avail). You know what they say: If love isn’t blind, it can be found with another reality-television star.
Amber wasn’t the only one Barnett connected with in the pods — remember Jessica, who let her dog drink her wine? Yep, he was torn between those two. He chose Amber, and the two immediately shared a physical connection. But the couple ended up facing their fair share of real-life issues, from Amber’s previous abortion to her student loans to his family’s disapproval.
Relationship status: Married.
Despite cold feet from both ends, Barnett and Amber said “I do” to each other at the altar. They live in Georgia and have a dog together named Koda. Even Jessica couldn’t tear that apart.
Love Is Blind OGs Lauren and Cameron are basically the blueprint for this show — as the first-ever couple to get engaged, it was basically love at first listen. Even though content creator Lauren was a little fearful of giving up her independent lifestyle for scientist Cameron, they ended up having minimal drama throughout the rest of the series, unless you count Cameron offering to share his toothbrush or rapping in front of Lauren’s mom.
Relationship status: Married.
The two are still happily married and live together in Atlanta. But don’t worry — they’re still not sharing toothbrushes. Some boundaries are good!
These two had a shaky start, as Renata’s comments in the pods made Alexandre think she was shallow. (In fairness, he was kind of right — remember Renata making fun of her pod ex Patrick for being bald after they met face to face?) Nevertheless, this courtship persisted, and in the end the couple got married.
Relationship status: Still together (and nonmonogamous).
At the reunion, Renata and Alexandre confirmed they’re still together but avoid using labels to describe their coupledom. They live in separate houses, spend time together, and still appear on each other’s Instagram grids and Reels. Whatever works!
Vanessa might’ve struggled to choose between Leonardo and Rodrigo for a while, but once she and Leo got to their honeymoon, it was smooth, passionate sailing. The connection between these two always felt genuine, which helps explain why they’re a fan favorite among LIB Brazil aficionados. Even Vanessa’s “old-fashioned” father eventually got on board, which is how you know it’s real.
Relationship status: Married.
As revealed during the reunion, these two hit up a local burger joint after getting hitched, which makes me love them even more. Based on their Instagram updates, it looks like they’re still together.
Every now and again, LIB produces a nonlinear success story. Take, for instance, Muriel and Kaled, who bonded in the pods but split up after their in-person reveal. He reminded her too much of an ex, and honestly, I get that. Thankfully, the two were able to reunite off-camera, where their chemistry returned and they were able to begin building anew. They didn’t get much screen time, but during the reunion, they confirmed they were still going strong.
Relationship status: Married.
During the reunion, Kaled shared how Muriel — who supported him as he discussed his issues with body image in the pods — had since continued to bolster him as he got bariatric surgery. The two shared that they were looking forward to getting married one day, and sure enough, they’ve since tied the knot. Sometimes, things work out exactly as they should.
I’m convinced that Maria and Mena were engineered in a lab to melt our hearts. In the history of LIB, we have yet to see a scene more adorable than Maria meeting Menandro’s daughter. This romance was easygoing from the beginning, and while an explosive fight brought on by an old love triangle threatened to blow it up, nothing can overcome a love this pure.
Relationship status: Married.
They were still together as of the reunion, and I knew before I even clicked into their grids that I’d see couples’ photos galore. Sure enough, they delivered.
If only we could forget this pairing, which felt doomed from the start. It’s not just that he was clearly obsessed with Maria or that she later called him her “runner-up” despite being the one who proposed. It’s the entire aura around this couple that made their every moment together feel so rancid. Fans saw through the fog from the beginning, and each slight felt more telling than the last. Personally, I was ready to call it quits the minute he called her a “pain in the ass.” Nevertheless, they somehow made it down the aisle and said “I do.”
Relationship status: Divorced.
As revealed during the reunion, this unhappy union lasted a mere two weeks before Karen and Valmir called it quits. Karen claimed it took only three days for Valmir to ask her to leave their home, which is wild, because I’m pretty sure I would have asked him to leave after about 45 minutes. Sadly, everyone saw this one coming from a mile away.
You’d be hard-pressed to name a more wholesome duo than this one — at least, at first. Everything seemed breezy between Bianca and Jarbas in the beginning, as they bonded over their devotion to their children — who both got along famously with their new prospective step-parents. But then came that nasty fight after the bride-and-groom fittings, when Jarbas came home drunk and accused Bianca of hiding her true self out of nowhere. Just like that, the impossibly perfect image was shattered.
Relationship status: Divorced.
Although Bianca and Jarbas said “I do,” things got rocky fairly quickly. They revealed during the season reunion that they’d begun couples therapy, and in January 2024, Bianca reportedly announced their separation. Her Instagram post has since been deleted, but the lack of photos of them together seems to confirm that they’ve called it quits.
It’s not just their names — throughout season three, Daniel and Daniela seemed totally in sync. The only tension between them came from Daniel’s sweet tooth, and honestly, if that’s all you have to argue about, you’re doing something right. Naturally, the dietary dilemma did nothing to keep them apart; he’s simply relegated his love of desserts to special occasions, like his birthday, when she made him a rich, delicious, chocolate-filled spread.
Relationship status: Divorced.
Daniel kept us in suspense during the wedding ceremony, reading a letter and ultimately writing his “I do” on his shirt. Sadly, for all that charm, it wasn’t meant to last. Although Daniel(a) were still together during the season-three reunion, they have since divorced. Daniela shared the news with a heartfelt note on Instagram in the fall of 2023.
After this couple’s dream courtship, I am forever in search of a man who’ll call me “the woman of his life.” Ana Carolina might’ve thrown a wrench in things when she claimed that she was Renan’s first choice — blasphemy if I ever heard it! — but nothing, not even bald deception, could tear this fated love apart. Also, I know this isn’t the ~most important thing~, but have you ever seen a more photogenic couple? You have not!
Relationship status: Married.
If these two ever divorce, I quit. After a beautiful wedding on the show, where they exchanged vows and soulful letters, the couple renewed their vows in 2023 in an even prettier ceremony, which just goes to show that when it comes to love, you can never go too big.

During season two of Love Is Blind Brazil, attorney Thamara racked up a number of admirers in the pods, but none stood out like Alisson, who opened up about being adopted at a young age. During the honeymoons, the couple shared a picture-perfect connection … until Thamara revealed that she ended an eight-year relationship just days before entering the pods and her ex was still trying to win her back. Oof.
Relationship status: Married.
After getting married during the season-two finale, the couple has remained together, with Alisson even moving to Rio de Janeiro to live with Thamara. However, the two have dealt with continued public accusations from Thamara’s ex-boyfriend, who claims she cheated on him by going on the show; in response, Thamara announced on her Instagram Stories that she’d be contacting her attorneys. You can’t out-lawyer a lawyer.
After bonding over their shared experience with single mothers, Flávia took the lead in this sweet relationship, proposing to Robert in the pods (which he later reciprocated). Their slow burn stayed strong throughout, and they established a physical connection, met each other’s families, and even crafted their own wedding rings.
Relationship status: Divorced.
During the reunion, the couple revealed that they split shortly after their wedding when Flávia discovered Robert was cheating on her … despite repeating throughout the series that his biggest fear was being cheated on. You can’t make this stuff up.
Luana and Lissio had a rocky start, with Lissio torn between Luana and attorney Carolina Stamatis in the pods. But once he chose Luana, it was (relatively) easy for the couple to begin their lives together, with Luana’s only complaint being that Lissio was a little bit too smooth of a talker during their minor quarrels.
Relationship status: Divorced.
Luana and Lissio were the only couple to remain married by the time season one premiered, but the couple ultimately revealed their divorce in a since-deleted November 2022 Instagram video, citing a private crisis as the reason for their split.
Throughout her time in the pods, Nanda was torn between thrill-seeking Thiago and architect Mackdavid. Once she chose Thiago (and proposed to him!!), the couple shared an intense physical connection that quickly broke down in the real world. After arguments in which Thiago called women “the weaker sex,” even Nanda’s dog didn’t like him.
Relationship status: Divorced.
While Thiago and Nanda got married during the finale, they split shortly after, and Thiago wasted no time returning to being the life of the party (a.k.a. getting kicked out of clubs for having sex in the bathroom). But in a surprise twist during the reunion, Nanda announced her reconciliation with Mack, with Mack even proposing to her at the end of the episode; in May 2022, the two welcomed a son named Ben. So you decide who really won the breakup.
Despite their age gap, Carolina and Hudson experienced an emotional connection in the pods — they bonded over a shared love for their families and experiences with racism. After leaving the honeymoon phase, they each passed the friends-and-family tests but couldn’t agree on their views about advocacy and feminism, with Carolina calling Hudson sexist in an off-screen argument.
Relationship status: Divorced.
While they made it down the aisle, the two announced their breakup during the reunion, choosing to keep the reasons why private.
By all accounts, Wataru and Midori shouldn’t have ended up together — Midori, a business planner, went into the pods skeptical about marriage. At the same time, Wataru, an IT executive who’d been married once before, was busy bonding with fellow contestant Priya. But their shared ambition, experiences living in the United States, and love for dogs bonded the two before an engagement. However, those weren’t the only challenges the couple faced: After the reveal, Midori explained that she’d hoped Wataru would have more “delicate” features and questioned whether marriage was for her.
Relationship status: Married.
Saying that they didn’t want to lose one another, Wataru and Midori got married in the Love Is Blind: Japan season-one finale and have remained together ever since. And in January 2023, they welcomed our first official Love Is Baby (!!), a daughter lovingly nicknamed Mataru. U.S. couples: Take notes.
Salesperson Motomi wasn’t looking for a traditional marriage — which is exactly why she bonded with hairstylist Ryotaro in the pods over their shared beliefs (and mutual love for chinchillas). Soon enough, the two were penning romantic letters to each other. Outside of the pods, Ryotaro proved his dedication by dying his blond frosted tips back to their natural black to impress Motomi’s father. That’s true love.
Relationship status: Married.
Of course these two made it. After getting married in a romantic ceremony, the couple has stayed together ever since. In her November 2022 pregnancy announcement, Motomi noted that she’s already “dreaming of” playdates with Wataru and Midori’s children. We. Can’t. Handle. It!!!!
The problem with falling in love through a wall is that sometimes, you meet face-to-face only to discover that you can’t stand each other. That’s basically what happened between Francesca and Willy, whose cute pod rapport quickly dissolved into fights about … well, just about everything. They didn’t agree about money, or gender roles, or where to live, and while he struggled to communicate his feelings, she had trouble not shouting her own while drunk on wine. Love might be blind, but in this case, it was blind-ing. (Sorry.)
Relationship status: Broken up.
Given their awful fights (and the fact that Willy apparently tried to break things off at least six times), it should come as no surprise that this couple said “no” at the altar. Francesca also laid into Willy at the reunion, returning the family necklace he’d given her because, as she put it, it had lost its value. Ouch!
I don’t think anyone actually believed in this couple, but I’ll admit, I was rooting for them! Silvi, a curvy model, seemed like a complementary match for Chema — a pro poker player with a big ego. Their vibrant personalities matched both inside the pods and out, and they bonded over losing their fathers young. Still, many of their castmates wondered if Silvi could really hold Chema’s attention long-term — and his dunderheaded comment during her birthday party that he didn’t like her reveal certainly didn’t help.
Relationship status: Broken up.
It wasn’t the comment that did it. During the wedding ceremony, the couple both ran away from the altar, giggling like schoolchildren and vowing to do things their own way. By the time the reunion rolled around, however, they’d broken up due to what Chema described as his own personal issues. At least he apologized for insulting her birthday look.
In many ways, these two feel like the Amber and Barnett of LIB Mexico. For starters, Fernando was involved in a love triangle with her and Iraís in the pods. Actually, it started out as a love square, with an additional contestant, Rocio, after him as well. And then there’s Karen, whose big-and-loud personality rubbed certain people — *cough* Iraís — the wrong way. But just like Amber and Barnett, Karen and Fernando proved they’re perfect for one another. Yes, they fought, especially over her smoking, but you could tell their connection was deep and real — especially after Fernando exchanged bracelets with Karen’s adorable daughter, Emi.
Relationship status: Married.
At a beautiful ceremony, Karen and Fernando said “I do” — but not without including Emi in the ceremony as well. They’ve been a happy family ever since, as confirmed both during the reunion and on Instagram.
If Karen and Fernando are the Amber and Barnett of this season, that would make Iraís and René its Jessica and Mark — and honestly, the comparison continues to fit. When Iraís got engaged to René, the whole thing reeked of a backup plan, and when they met, she instantly recoiled, claiming he looked like a “drunk.” Not ideal! Although the two patched things up, some of their fellow contestants (and fans) struggled to buy in.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Iraís’s sister was the highlight of the wedding, grilling her sister about everything from René’s date of birth to his blood type, but unfortunately, all that studying was for naught. René said “no” at the altar because he didn’t feel ready, and although the two agreed to keep dating, they confirmed at the reunion that they were unable to maintain the flame long distance.
It was easy to forget about Jasmine and Bobby throughout the season for one reason: You just knew they wouldn’t have any problems. If Jasmine could get past the cringefest that was Bobby’s “Body of a Dancer” music video, these two could survive anything. Her mother, Marissa, put their bond to the test with a very awkward, borderline hostile first meeting, but they later patched things up and established some boundaries — thank God.
Relationship status: Married.
Despite Bobby’s misgivings about Jasmine’s mother, the two said “I do” at the altar and confirmed during the reunion that they’d all reconciled. Since then, they’ve told Tudum that they hope to start a family. At the risk of sounding shallow, that’s going to be one gorgeous baby — and if Jasmine’s grid is anything to go on, they’ll have an immaculate skin-care routine by the time they’re ready to crawl.
Seemingly no one in the season believed that this “sporty” girl could wind up with a player like Ollie long-term, but they had chemistry! Their banter was solid, and although they both had their struggles — Demi with her confidence and Ollie with his ADHD — they did their best at all times to make it work. Still, they had a stormier side; other contestants’ comments got to Ollie during the honeymoon, and Demi’s bubbly personality deflated over time as well. Heading into their wedding ceremony felt like the coin toss of the century.
Relationship status: Broken up.
In a move that surprised everyone who believed Ollie would reject her, Demi turned him down at the altar. Although she said “I do not for now,” Ollie was relieved when she said she wanted to continue dating. By the time the reunion rolled around, however, they’d broken up. The good news? Ollie still stood up for Demi and called out everyone who’d body-shamed her. “Anyone that knows me, anyone that knows my dating history, knows that I always dated women that look like Demi,” he said. And that was that!
Who knew this show would have all of us lusting after a funeral director? What can we say — Freddie makes mortuary work look sexy! And unlike most men on LIB, he came with a nice, clean, actually decorated house to boot. Nevertheless, his “Jersey girl,” Cat, quickly turned on him. The minute he disclosed he’d once cheated on a partner, she seemed to shut down. Suddenly, his humor was not endearing but insufferable. She wanted him to come shopping but didn’t want to hear his (frankly funny) commentary on the merchandise. She loved his house but couldn’t go 30 seconds without complaining about something he said. The sleepless eye of the camera is rarely flattering to anyone, but for Cat, especially, it turned into a relationship microscope, highlighting her every terse remark.
Relationship status: Broken up.
The anticipation was killing us ahead of this wedding. Sure enough, while Cat said “I do” at the altar, Freddie declined. Both of them were good sports at the reunion, where Cat cried over a montage of herself crying, and Cat even returned the earrings that Freddie gave her — proving, in the process, that she’s capable of being the bigger person when she’s not irritated out of her mind by her own fiancé.
In the pods, Sabrina and Steven were absolute magic. From their shared devotion to mindfulness, to their deep conversation, to their charming banter, the girl from Belfast and lad from London felt like a match made in fancy-accent heaven. Things got even better during their honeymoon, as Sabrina teased Steven for his speedos, and the bliss continued when they moved into their shared apartment. Still, subtle cracks began to show. Why was she gushing about his willingness to relocate to Belfast while he claimed they’d live in London for a few years first? The subtle discord was easy to ignore but also undeniable.
Relationship status: Divorced. (Very divorced.)
Sabrina and Steven were one of the few couples who said “I do” in LIB UK, but as they admitted during the reunion, their marriage lasted only four months. From there, their narratives completely diverge. She claimed she bent over backwards making concessions and visits to London and even brought up a £70 grocery-shopping trip for which she claims he never reimbursed her. He, meanwhile, said it was all lies but declined to go into detail. Never has a dreamy couple turned into such a nightmare, but all credit to them for not going full Jerry Springer. In the U.S., we probably would have seen a fistfight.
You could smell the crunchy granola energy on these two from a mile away, so of course they found each other in the pods — love might be blind, but it can still smell compatibility. Still, Benaiah’s nomadic existence was a bit scary for Nicole, who wondered if he’d be able to settle down. Ben’s hesitance to voice his feelings backfired big time when Nicole chose the absolutely insufferable “Sam from London” as her fiancée only to regret it 30 seconds later. In the end, Nicole dumped Sam and reunited with Ben — but not without some awkward drama at a cocktail mixer.
Relationship status: Married.
After a rocky start and a very awkward confrontation with Sam, Nicole and Benaiah still managed to tie the knot. At the reunion, they confirmed they’re still together, and based on their ’Grams, nothing has changed.
It’s not often you see genuine, undeniable fire in the pods, but there was real energy between Maria and Tom, whose conversations felt so electric that we sometimes had to fan ourselves. They also took the cake for Most Iconic Reveal when Maria smudged her bright pink lipstick all over Tom’s face. Still, differences in values began to wear on the couple — particularly as they pertained to gender expectations. Tom seemed to get the impression that Maria wanted him to pay all the bills, and while she does believe in more traditional roles, she denies that that was the case.
Relationship status: Broken up.
This one was brutal — especially at the reunion. Tom said “no” at the altar, and Maria was furious when she saw what he’d said about wanting a wife and daughters who know how to “contribute.” On stage at the reunion, Tom was forced to apologize for basically insulting her family. And after they’d made him that delicious lunch, to boot!
Rasmus might’ve acted a little shallow at times in the pods, but he and Krisse-ly dug deep and formed a genuine bond that carried them through the season — even as Rasmus judged her for not training her dog to his liking. You know a relationship is real when you can even overcome differences in parenting! Ultimately, Rasmus recognized and appreciated Krisse-ly’s tough upbringing and valued the gentleness she brought to their relationship — even if he did accidentally call her “Kimberly” during their reveal.
Relationship status: Married.
Evidently, the name flub wasn’t enough to stop these two at the altar. They both said “yes,” and in June 2024, they announced that a baby was on the way — news that’s even sweeter than Swiss chocolate.
This was one of those couples that worked well in the pods but fizzled out from the moment they met face-to-face. Lucas was clearly not physically attracted to Emilia. Meanwhile, Emilia, who is naturally affectionate, tried everything to entice Lucas while he brushed her off. Eventually, she understandably got tired of it and pulled back out of insecurity. It doesn’t help that Lucas was clearly enticed by his pod ex Karolina, who gave him her underwear before he broke things off.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Although Lucas spoke respectfully about Emilia in group settings, he still said “no” at the altar because the chemistry wasn’t there. The two said during the show’s reunion that they tried dating afterward but lasted only two weeks. Better luck next time!
Have you noticed that when an LIB couple bonds over Christianity, there’s a nonzero chance that they wind up dealing with secret-baby drama? Before Tyler Francis, we had Sergio, who got accused of fathering a child in Barcelona in a rumor that never really got resolved. Even before that, certain comments made fans question his intentions — as when he told his eventual fiancée, Amanda, that he’d exclusively date her but continued to date other women, or when he said he wasn’t sure he’d be attracted to her because she had scoliosis growing up. Is love blind, or is it only interested in women whose spines have been straight since birth?
Relationship status: Married.
In the end, Amanda and Sergio overcame all obstacles and said “I do” — and since then, they’ve welcomed a son named Ralf. Let’s hope they host some playdates with Rasmus and Krisse-ly.
The most unpredictable relationships in LIB are the ones where two complementary people start to drive each other crazy. As both a white man and an extrovert, Oskar’s not the kind of guy Meira would usually go for, but that “opposites attract” vibe really seemed to work for them — except in those moments when Oskar failed to understand Meira’s need for quiet time. Meira did not seem to expect her family to like Oskar as much as they did, which dissolved her most reliable excuse to pull the rip cord and break things off. But did they ultimately stand the test of time?
Relationship status: Married.
You bet they did! At the reunion, Oskar and Meira confirmed that despite their ups and downs, they’re still very much in love. In fact, they’re still so enamored that they held another wedding in the summer of 2024. Meira might’ve been unsure about the match, and in turn, so were viewers, but Oskar believed in it from the start, and in this case, he proved that confidence can, indeed, get you far — assuming you have the caring charisma to back it up.
The real question between these two was not “Is love truly blind?” but instead “Can love tolerate a long commute?” Going into this relationship, Safa and Mohammed knew that if they made it long-term, she’d have to commute to Iraq each week — so the pressure was on. Despite that challenge, and Mohammed’s parents struggling to visit from Jordan, these two became the strongest couple of the season.
Relationship status: Married.
These two must be racking up the frequent-flyer miles because they said “I do” at the altar and confirmed at the reunion that they’re still together. They do cohabitate now, and despite Safa’s seemingly cool demeanor at the reunion, they appear to still be happily married.
Sometimes, couples who split up after the reveal reunite and come back stronger than ever — and sometimes, a bad reveal foreshadows more heartache to come. For a while, it was unclear which side of the coin Asma and Khatab would land on. She insisted that her nerves post-reveal had nothing to do with how he looked, and for a while, they seemed to find equilibrium. Still, despite her sister’s support, Asma struggled with the fact that her parents declined to come to the wedding — a factor that weighed on her going into the wedding.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Asma and Khatab decided at the altar that they wouldn’t get married and would instead pursue a more traditional relationship in the real world. Sadly, they broke up before the reunion and agreed that it was for the best; after two months, their differences and the stress of their jobs were simply too much to negotiate.
The youngest couple of the season suffered all the problems you might expect: Her bond with her mother was still a little too close, leaving her with few boundaries and little real-life experience, and he kind of acted like a fuckboy all season. (Remember when he started a fight with Simo at the cocktail party because Simo brought up his Instagram exchange with Nour? Yikes!) Chafic also did the annoying thing where he said Dounia is not his usual “type” and said she’s the kind of girl his mother would like, which, excuse me! Have you looked at her? She’s a catch!
Relationship status: Engaged (???)
Although they didn’t get married during their wedding on the show, Dounia and Chafic stuck together — and last year, they got engaged anew, complete with a cake that said “She said yes again,” not long after cheating rumors surfaced online. From the photos, though, they seemed pretty content, but recently fans have speculated that the couple has split. Dounia said she’s “not ready” to talk about their status on Instagram.
Julieta was the hot girl of the season, and while she and Ezequiel dodged much of the drama that plagued this season, they also hit some roadblocks of their own. Their biggest source of tension was Julieta’s trouble displaying affection, which made Ezequiel feel insecure. In some ways, the experiment seemed to be too much for Julieta — as did Ezequiel’s need for (a normal amount of) validation.
Relationship status: Divorced.
Jezequiel thrilled fans when they got married, but at the reunion, they confessed that they were no longer together. Despite saying “I do,” they never moved in together, and over time, their connection fizzled. The two remain close and talk all the time — Ezequiel is still the person Julieta calls when she has news, good or bad. But now he’s free to pursue someone who’s as eager as he is to pack in the cuddle time.
Early on in the pods, Santiago told Emily that he’d heard her name in a dream — a detail that, combined with their easy chemistry, soon led them out of the pods and into their honeymoon. Still, it wasn’t all sunshine and roses. The two got into an awful argument not long before their wedding, as Santiago lashed out at Emily over her humor. Destined as the dream might’ve made their relationship seem, their personalities didn’t always feel compatible.
Relationship status: Divorced
Although the two got married on the show, they’ve since separated. Emily recently accused Santiago of physically attacking her.
I’ll just say it plainly: Mauricio was one of the biggest pains in the ass in all of LIB history. He spent half his time complaining about his fiancée to anyone who’d listen and the other half-chilling naked by the pool, as if awaiting compliments. Predictably, he said María was not his “type,” but that’s only because he’s self-centered and manipulative, and she’s too smart and confident to fall for any of his nonsense. And yet somehow, despite all odds and human impulse to hurl guys like Mauricio out of the nearest window, these two did make it to the altar.
Relationship status: Broken up.
Thank God María did not agree to marry this man. After he said “I do,” she told him that their time together had left her “overwhelmed, confused, sad, and slightly frustrated” — and frankly, she was doing him a favor by stopping there.
Oh God, these two. Where to begin? Everyone had a lot of trouble buying their courtship, given that both of them had been pursuing other people in the pods. They got together after failing to get engaged, joining the rest of the cast after the honeymoon stage in a bid for more screen time to find true love at last. José had previously been so enamored with Julieta that he wrote her a poem, and Florencia went after Tom until he proposed to Florfi. Over time, Florencia and José’s relationship started to feel more serious — especially as he began to wrap his brain around living with her four cats. You don’t commit to that much cat hair unless it’s true love.
Relationship status: Married.
Skepticism be damned, these two chose to tie the knot and are still together to this day. He’s all over her grid, and more importantly, her cats have also made it onto his.
Ilias and Alina might’ve bonded over spirituality, but for a minute, it looked like his wandering eye might tear them apart. In the pods, he confessed to having cheated in the past, and while Alina does not belong to the “once a cheater, always a cheater” school of thought, Ilias tested her trust by continuing to pay just a little too much attention to his pod ex, Hanni. Meanwhile, his chemistry with Alina seemed to plateau — which led some to worry that this Gemini might live up to the bad stereotypes and do something two-faced. (Sorry, Gems, please don’t come for me!)
Relationship status: Married.
Yup — they did it! Despite Alina’s initial fear that Ilias wasn’t committed (she even asked Hanni at one point to flirt with him as a “test”), the couple got married on the show and was still together during the reunion. In fact, Hanni got scapegoated for the flirtation, as Alina claimed she’d chosen to flirt with Ilias of her own accord and never reported back to her the way she’d expect if Hanni had really cozied up on her behalf. Perhaps as a way to further cement the relationship, Alina revealed during the reunion that after some initial hesitation, she’d decided to take Ilias’s last name. Good for her, but I still feel like she and Ilias did Hanni a little dirty.
Everything seemed to snap into place between Sally and Medina in the pods, and when they each spontaneously gave each other gifts featuring the same Bible verse, Psalm 27, they basically had to get engaged. Sadly, their face-to-face reveal was a disaster; Medina couldn’t stop giggling, which left Sally insecure. She left the experiment early, but then the two reunited and rejoined the show during the cohabitation stage — proving that, sometimes, you just have to have a little faith.
Relationship status: Broken up.
There are no hard feelings between these two, but they chose not to get married. During the reunion, Sally revealed that she would have said “I do,” if Medina had done so first. The two briefly dated after the wedding but soon broke up and decided to remain friends.
Hanni got a lot of heat during the reunion, but her feelings for Daniel seemed genuine throughout the season. She loved the way he made her laugh, and as far as he was concerned, that sound was worth its weight in gold — his (paraphrased, somewhat clichéd) words, not mine. Yes, she flirted with her pod ex Ilias, but her reasons for doing so depend on whom you ask — her or Alina. Ultimately, the real hurdle in Hanni and Daniel’s relationship were the walls she put up thanks to being cheated in the past. And who among us hasn’t built a few of those?
Relationship status: Together. Maybe?
When Hanni rejected Daniel at the altar, you could tell he was devastated. Come reunion time, however, Daniel said they were more than friends — if still not a couple. They appear on each other’s social channels frequently, and they certainly seem couple-y. For this reason, I choose to believe that they are together — whether the haters like it or not.
