Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, received a report from Dr. Hamed Al -Aqsas, Chairman of the General Authority for Veterinary Services, on the most prominent efforts and activities of the authority, in the areas of animal health, community awareness and immunization of livestock.
The “sniper” said that the directorates of veterinary medicine in the governorates organized many important activities, within the framework of the directives of Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and under the supervision of Eng. Mustafa Al -Sayyad, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, with the aim of advancing the livestock sector and public health support.
He explained that a series of various activities that included free therapeutic caravans, preventive fortification campaigns, awareness and guidance efforts, and animal welfare initiatives, including civilizational dealings with stray animals and animals, were implemented within the framework of the Egyptian state’s endeavor to achieve sustainable development goals and Egypt’s 2030 vision, and the most prominent of the report included as follows:
Free veterinary convoys and comprehensive treatment services:
Several governorates witnessed the launch of free veterinary convoys to serve breeders and contribute to the treatment of their animals. In the New Valley Governorate, the Veterinary Medicine Directorate organized a convoy in the village of Al -Bashandi, during which 383 animals were treated and 200 heads of workshops were dilated 210 other animals, in addition to examining and treating 110 birds.
In Minya, the Directorate cooperated with Brock Charitable Hospital for Animal Therapy in a comprehensive convoy in the Maghagha Center, where treatment and diagnostic services were provided to horses and animals, and holding indicative meetings on genetic improvement and the development of dairy assembly centers.
In Dakahlia, the Directorate carried out a treatment convoy in the village of Al Khaleej, which included treating cows, buffaloes, animals and sheep, in addition to a genital survey and awareness seminars for citizens.
In Suez, the veterinary unit of the veterinary detection and animal treatment in the rural sector, and carried out artificial insemination work to improve breeds.
The Veterinary Medicine Directorate also organized a free treatment convoy in the village of the new facility in cooperation with the University of Tanta, where 383 animals and 3700 birds were treated and examined, providing genital examination services, satellite, spraying against parasites and distributing appropriate treatment.
Animal welfare efforts and preventive fortifications:
The Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Suez has implemented a campaign to fortify dogs against the rabies, and has been held awareness activities for children and citizens about the symptoms of the disease and methods of prevention. The veterinary unit also continued its efforts in genital detection and IVF.
In Port Said, the Directorate launched an expanded campaign to fortify stray dogs against the prices in response to citizens’ complaints, and carried out a campaign in cooperation with Al -Manakh neighborhood to confront the phenomenon of widespread animals, where a number of violating animals were seized and a horse was seized in cooperation with the Animal Welfare Association.
Investigating the health status of birds:
Active investigation teams in Asiot were launched by withdrawing samples from the Sufi market for live birds to check on the general health condition.
Seasonal awareness and preparations:
The directors of veterinary medicine in Sharqia and Kafr El -Sheikh intensified the holding of awareness seminars on foot -and -foot fever, the rift valley fever, and the promotion of vital safety concepts. The preparation is also taking place in the East to hold a specialized workshop on “veterinary preparations to receive the Eid al -Adha season.”
In a related context, the Chairman of the Authority affirmed the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, to raise the efficiency of the field veterinary work, expand the scope of fortifications and awareness -raising, to serve the protection of public health, livestock development, and the achievement of food security and sustainable development.
