Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, head of the General Authority for Health Care, said that the hospital has successfully performed more than 30,000 surgical procedures in the field of ophthalmology, the most prominent of which are corneal transplants, retinal surgeries, and white water surgeries, confirming that all of them were performed with a level of success comparable to international standards.
He explained that the hospital’s outpatient clinics provided more than 500,000 medical services through 10 specialized clinics covering all branches of ophthalmology, including general medicine, retina, cataracts, glaucoma, cosmetology, laser, as well as internal medicine and anesthesiology, which reflects the full integration of specialized care.
As the hospital received more than 96 thousand cases, it was handled with high efficiency and speed of response, along with thousands of tests, analyzes and advanced x-rays using the latest technological means.
Dr. Al-Sabki pointed out that Al-Ramd Specialist Hospital was a pioneer in launching innovative initiatives to serve patients, most notably providing the first home detection service for non-adherent glaucoma patients, with free treatment delivered to their homes, as part of the “Al-Samat Alert” initiative, which aims at early detection of this dangerous disease that may lead to loss of sight without visible symptoms.
And in this important achievement, Al-Ramd Specialist Hospital received international recognition from the GGHH Green World Hospital Network, making it the first specialized hospital to achieve this achievement, due to its adherence to environmentally friendly practices in providing health care, in support of national attention towards achieving environmental sustainability in the health sector.
The authority concluded that the specialized hospital is a model for integrated health care in terms of advanced infrastructure, qualified medical staff, and integrated specialties, which supports the authority’s vision of providing smart, sustainable, and high-quality health services, enhancing the goals of comprehensive health coverage and the Egypt 2030 vision.
