Engineer Sharif Al-Sharbini, the Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, announced the start of the trial operation of the second phase of the New Cairo City Water Treatment Plant with a capacity of 500,000 m3/day, in preparation for its preparation to meet the city’s water needs during the next summer, in addition to feeding new urban expansions and maintaining pressure.
In the same context, the engineer Abd al-Rauf al-Ghaitya, the head of the system of the city of New Cairo, and the engineer Muhammad Mohi, the deputy head of the system for the station sector, and the person responsible for the system, carried out an inspection of the station’s components, including checking the cleaning and sterilization of 4 tanks, cleaning and sterilizing 9 filters, operating the chlorine system and checking its readiness, as well as cleaning and sterilizing the water tank with a capacity of 20,000 m3, and checking the efficiency of the system الروبة وجاهزيتها
During the tour, the head of the city of New Cairo pointed out that it is necessary to continue to enter the water into the tanks, to intensify the washing of the filters to produce the necessary water, and to enter all the components of the service to ensure that water samples are taken continuously until its quality is confirmed, and to coordinate with the Ministry of Health to take the necessary chemical, bacteriological, and biological samples for testing and to ensure the extent of their efficiency to enter the service.
