Demon Slayer has a huge fan base in China. Thus, ever since the film premiered in Japan, fans had been speculating about its possible release window in the country. Fortunately, after months of anticipation, it seems like the authorities in China have finally approved the film’s theatrical release.

The anime movie gave fans its first sign of a release in China with the launch of its official Weibo (a Chinese social media platform similar to X) account. This led to a heated debate online as fans discussed when the movie might premiere in China. Thankfully, they did not have to wait for too long, as the announcement followed soon after.

On November 3, 2025, the newly launched official Weibo account of the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie announced that the anime film is scheduled to be released in China on Friday, November 14, 2025. According to reports, Maoyan Pictures is set to distribute the movie within the country.

Even fans must know, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie has had a successful theatrical run, amassing over $674 million worldwide so far. Nevertheless, it seems like the film’s executives have no plans to end its theatrical run anytime soon. This is especially evident from hints suggesting that the movie will remain exclusively in theaters even in 2026.

While fans are disappointed that this move will delay the film’s streaming release on Crunchyroll, the extended theatrical run will undoubtedly boost its box office numbers. Not to mention, the anime movie’s upcoming release in China will give the film an even bigger push.

According to analysts, the inclusion of the Chinese market is set to mark a major step for the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie, as such a move could push the film’s final tally between $900 million and $1 billion.

Such a figure would not only make Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie the first anime movie to reach the $1 billion milestone, but it would also make it the highest-grossing anime movie ever.
