The Ministry of Health and Population announced the signing of the “Faxira” holding company for biologics and vaccines with the Emirati “Al Qala” and the Chinese “Red Flag” companies, with the aim of enhancing the company’s production capacity in the production and export of human and veterinary vaccines, and developing the production of plasma used in the manufacture of vaccines, supporting national capabilities in this vital sector.
Dr. Hussam Abd al-Ghafar, the official spokesman of the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the signing of that memorandum is part of the country’s strategy to attract foreign investments, stimulate the vaccine industry, and strengthen national capabilities in scientific research, development, and biological production.
He confirmed that this cooperation is in line with the vision of Egypt 2030 to achieve self-sufficiency and sustainable development in the health sector, which enhances Egypt’s position as a leading regional center in the production of biologics.
He added that the memorandum aims to turn Egypt into a regional center for vaccine production, and to achieve self-sufficiency in human and veterinary vaccines, while enhancing export capacity for regional and international markets, especially in Africa and the Arab region.
For his part, Dr. Sharif Al-Fail, the executive director of the company “Faxira” noted that this partnership represents a qualitative step to transfer advanced technology to Egypt, providing safe and effective vaccines to meet the needs of the local market, opening new horizons for exporting to the African and Arab markets.
He confirmed that this cooperation will contribute to the development of the capabilities of the “fax machine” in the production of plasma and vaccines, thereby enhancing its position as a key player in the biomedical industry.
The agreement was reached between Dr. Sharif Al-Fail, Executive Director of “Faxira” Company, and Mr. Li Yang, Executive Director of “Red Flag” Chinese Company, and Mr. Ashraf Al-Badawi, Executive Director of “Al-Qalea” Company.
