Today, Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, presented the first phase of the comprehensive plan for the development of the Port of Gharb Said, as part of his inspection tour of the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, with the participation of General Engineer Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, and Dr. Sharif Farooq, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, as well as Al-Friq Asama Rabia, President of the Suez Canal Authority, and Waleed Jamal Al-Din, President of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

The head of the General Authority of the Economic Zone said: This year is the year of the harvest, as it is the year of the numerous openings that were not seen in the ports and logistics areas, and there are 2.4 billion dollars in exports from the economic region, which contributes to the increase in the dollar amount.

He added: the development of the Port of Gharb is part of an ambitious strategic plan to turn it into an integrated logistics platform supporting regional and international trade, where the first phase of the project includes the implementation of a number of vital works that contribute to improving the efficiency of the infrastructure and improving the level of services inside the port, where the roads were rehabilitated and paved with a total area of 165,000 square meters, as well as the planning of traffic routes inside the port based on advanced traffic studies, which contribute to the improvement of traffic Entry and exit of trucks and vehicles

Regarding the information structure, Walid Jamal al-Din explained that an integrated network of 18 km of optical fiber was implemented, connecting 5 main data centers, in order to achieve the connection of the mine with all the entities that work with it, with the implementation of the electronic management system of the mine PMS, which supports the one-stop shop system built by the economic zone of the Swiss Channel.

And in regard to the service infrastructure, he pointed out that the sewage and rain system was implemented with a length of approximately 8 kilometers, in order to increase the capacity of Al Mina to face the weather and rain and prevent disruption of trading and the exit of goods in Al Mina.

And within the requirements of civil protection, an integrated fire fighting network was established, including more than 111 fire hydrants extending over an area of ​​14 kilometers, water tanks with a total capacity of 365 cubic meters, and fire pumps with a capacity of up to 1000 gallons per minute, which provides complete safety for individuals and facilities inside the port, in addition to the creation of a fire network in the eastern region of Borfoad.
