Rugged and refined don’t usually go together. But you can leave it to Barbour to show yet again that the two terms aren’t mutually exclusive.
In partnership with Sorel, the brand best known for its hardy green jackets gave the legendary Caribou boot a sophisticated makeover.

While it drops the waxed canvas Barbour has made synonymous with its brand, it accomplishes similar performance — and looks — with a green leather upper treated with Gore-Tex for foul-weather waterproofing.

That said, the boot does come with Barbour’s famous corduroy collar, affixed to the top of the boot, for an extra dose of British style.

There’s also 200 grams of insulation and a seam-sealed construction to keep out the cold. Meanwhile, the Vibram XS Trek outsole ensures ample amounts of traction, stability and longevity.

In other words, just like those iconic waxed jackets, the Sorel x Barbour Caribou Horizon GTX is no one-winter wonder. It’s a boot you can trust for many seasons to come.
Availability and pricing
The Sorel x Barbour Caribou Horizon GTX is available now for $450. It headlines a broader collection between the two brands that includes two other footwear designs, as well as a waxed puffer jacket.
