Dr. Hisham Abou Al-Nasr, Governor of Assiut, inspects the mobile library belonging to the Egyptian Public Library Fund with a total cost of 6 million pounds, which reached the governorate as part of the plan to deliver library and educational services to all parts of the governorate, especially in remote areas, as part of the state plan to spread cultural and knowledge awareness and reading culture among different segments of society by delivering books to readers and covering a greater number of areas and neighborhoods where public libraries are not available, in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, the President of the Republic for building a human being and creating a generation that is aware and educated, able to face the challenges and achieve the goals of the cultural axis of the Egypt 2030 strategy, it came in the presence of Allah Ismail Hussein, the governor’s adviser for the general administration of the technical office and Hajjar Mahros, the manager of the branch of the Egyptian General Office in Asiout.

The governor of Assiut explained that the mobile library is a special addition to the Assiut community, where it provides many cultural and knowledge services to citizens in different villages and cities. Thanks in advance to Ambassador Reza Al-Taifi, manager of the Egyptian Public Library Fund, for his support and effort to provide this mobile library that contributes to the dissemination of knowledge and culture among different groups of society, stressing that this initiative represents an important step towards promoting cultural awareness and developing the skills of individuals in all fields.

The governor added that the library contains a range of activities aimed at spreading culture and promoting knowledge, including the external lending of books, in addition to various cultural activities such as training courses, art exhibitions, and artistic activities aimed at developing the skills of individuals in various fields, as well as being equipped with the latest technology, as it includes an electronic library and internet services, as well as surveillance cameras to ensure safety, as well as a GPS system to determine locations and movements between different areas. It also contains 10 tables and 30 chairs, to provide a comfortable environment for citizens to take advantage of the services provided by the library, as well as to protect visitors from the sun.

Abu al-Nasr pointed out that this library represents an innovative model for providing cultural and educational services to citizens in hard-to-reach places, confirming that the governorate will continue to support the activities of the library and organize various programs and activities in this mobile library to serve all groups of society, especially the youth and children, to provide cultural and training services throughout the governorate, believing that culture and knowledge are one of the tools of soft power to advance and improve society.
