Yancy’s wife is not the only surprise family member of a main Ransom Canyon character that will appear in Season 2 of the Netflix romantic drama.
Steve Howey (High Potential) has been cast as a recurring guest star in the upcoming season whose production is currently underway at Netflix Studios Albuquerque. He will portray Staten’s (Josh Duhamel) half-brother Levi, a mountain man of sorts who lives off the land.
In Season 2 of the series, starring Duhamel and Minka Kelly, the future of Ransom Canyon hangs in the balance as ranching dynasties continue to vie for power and new faces arrive, threatening the lives and loves of this quaint, western town.
Staten’s living relatives introduced in Season 1 include his father Sam (Brett Cullen), a Texas senator; brother-in-law Davis (Eoin Macken); and nephew Reid (Andrew Liner). Cullen will continue to recur in Season 2 while Macken and Liner departed their series regular roles after Season 1.
In addition to Duhamel and Kelly, the series regular cast for Season 2 includes Lizzy Greene, Garrett Wareing, Jack Schumacher, Marianly Tejada as well as Casey W. Johnson who was promoted from a recurring. New and returning recurring cast members include Patricia Clarkson as Quinn’s (Kelly) mother, Ben Robson, Heidi Engerman, Tatanka Means, Justin Johnson Cortez, Kenny Miller, Philip Winchester, Jennifer Ens and Niko Guardado.
Yet to be revealed is the actress who plays Yancy’s (Schumacher) wife, introduced in the Season 1 finale cliffhanger.
April Blair adapted the Jodi Thomas books and serves as showrunner on Ransom Canyonwhich she executive produces with Dan Angel, Bradley Gardner, Duhamel and Kelly.
This is the third major casting series for Howey in the span of three months. He is a new series regular on ABC’s hit procedural drama High Potential and is set to recur on Prime Video’s upcoming series Off Campus, based on the bestselling books. Howey is known for his role as Kevin Ball on the long-running Showtime comedy-drama Shamelesswas a series regular on the hit WB comedy Reba, and led the CBS action series True Lies. He is rapped by Independent Artist Group.
