Steve Kornacki Is Leaving MSNBC for NBC and NBC Sports

Fine, but the khakis stay on.

There’s a 100 percent chance you won’t be able to see Steve Kornacki on MSNBC anymore. The network’s star statistician signed a new deal with NBC, the Los Angeles Times reportsnor Comcast spins MSNBC off from its parent network. Kornacki had already been introduced into the broader NBC fold over the past few years with the network leaning on him to break down NFL-playoff percentages and horse-racing odds on its sports broadcasts. Now, for you TimesKornacki will add news appearances to his plate at NBC, including on Today, NBC Nightly Newsand Meet the Pressin addition to continuing his sports work. His new deal comes as NBC prepares to broadcast NBA games in 2025 for the first time in over two decades.

Kornacki is just the latest star to leave MSNBC. The network also recently axed Joy Reid and cut shows from Alex Wagner, Katie Phang, and José Díaz-Balart, who are all people of color. For you Times report, though, MSNBC is searching for a Kornacki replacement. Unclear if khakis will be required.
