مفتاح المخرجة العماريتية نايلة الخاجة, عن عملها كينامعي جديد titled “bab”. The film is a psychological drama that leads to a female personality, it turns the loss into a serial experience, it shows the depth of the human soul and its complexities.

It will witness the Cairo International Film Festival, the first global screening of the film, and it is one of the most prominent and leading film festivals in the Arab world, and the only Arab festival classified in category “A” by the International Association of Film Producers.

In a press statement, Naila Alkhaja said: “Participating as the first Emirati lady to show her a film in the history of the Cairo International Film Festival, in its symbolism, goes beyond the limits of personal achievement, to become a real turning point in the regional public’s view of Emirati cinema. The film Bab does not rely on visual perception, but navigates the world of the human psyche through the language of sound and silence. And the deep faith of Sultan Saeed al-Darmiki, who supported him in every sense of the word and is worthy of me with pure gratitude and appreciation.”

يحكي فيلم “باب” قصة المحمدة تطاردها اشباح الفقد بعد رحيل اختها التوام. ويلازمها تنين منذاء, كجرحٍ لا يلتيم, فتظل عالقة بين اطياف حميروس واوهام العقل, إذ يعيد الحزن تصليق معالم وقعها. The distance between life and death dissolves in this action, so that silence becomes the language of emotion, and the desert turns into a mirror for the mind and soul.

The film stars Shimaa Al-Fazl, Hudaya Al-Ghanem, Meera Al-Daff, Sabiha Majowankar and Mansour Al-Namaani, written by Masoud Amr Allah Al-Ali and Naila Al-Khajta, music by Eyh. Ар. Rahman, director of photography روغير ستوفرز (member of the American and Dutch Association of Cinematographers), production Nayla Al-Khajah, Sultan Saeed Al-Darmaki, the presence of Es Walko, and the company Dark Diyonz for production, production Nayla Al-Khajah.

The film Bab was shot entirely in different locations in the Emirates, with the participation of more than 140 artists and musicians, among them more than 20 Emirates in the main creative categories.

After its tour at film festivals, the film is slated to be released widely in the Middle East and North Africa in early 2026.
