Khalid Abd al-Ghfar, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Health and Population, met on Thursday, Ambassador Alexander Beysir, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Egypt, to discuss how to enhance bilateral cooperation in the health sector, at the Ministry of Health in the new administrative capital.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Khalid Abd al-Ghfar emphasized the depth of the historical and strong relations between Egypt and Cuba, pointing out that the cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries are essential for the development of cooperation in various fields, especially the health sector. He expressed his desire to strengthen strategic partnerships that serve the interests of the people who are friends.

“Abdel Ghafar” added that the two sides discussed the possibility of cooperation in the transfer of drug manufacturing technology for the treatment of diseases such as diabetes and kidney disease, as part of the state’s desire to promote medical innovation and support local manufacturing of biomedicine, contributing to the improvement of the quality of health services provided to citizens.
And the meeting touches on the current cooperation projects between Cuba and the holding company for biologics and vaccines “Faxira”, which includes the transfer of technology for the manufacture of biovaccines such as syphilis and xerox, as well as the exchange of information in the field of biotechnology.
