The activities of the fifth session of the Bahrain Film Festival, which is held under the slogan “short films… great stories”, began today on Thursday, October 30, in the presence of many of the stars of the Arab world and the cinema industry, in a festive atmosphere that was witnessed in the outdoor area of the “Ghaleria Convention”.

I witnessed the first day of the festival, the passing of the stars on Al-Sajadah al-Hamra, where all of them were present, including Shajoon Al-Hajri, Fatima Al-Safi, Muhammad Mamdouh, Karim Al-Shanawi, Shiko, Rami Imam, Muna Wasif, Abdullah Bushehri, Adwa Al-Fahd, Shemaa Seif, Muhammad Sarwat, and Ahmed Fathi.
During the opening ceremony, the festival was honored with appreciation for its rich artistic career that spanned more than five decades, with no silence in Arabic cinema and drama.
منا علقت كلمة على التحميل, عبّرت عن عمتنانها قلوة: “Hal film لي شفناه ذكرني باحلامي, قديش قوّتنا كيناما, قديش خلتنا نحلم ونتلّع عالسما ونشوف القمر.. واسلنا لفهماء بحرين”.
Then she added: “I’m sorry for the absence of Arabic cinema in some of the countries, and I’m sorry for the days when I didn’t go to the cinema, except if I traveled to the country.. But I don’t think that cinema and art and science are their strength, because I don’t know how much I’m doing, I don’t have a limit in it.”
The festival, organized by the Bahrain Film Club in cooperation with the Ministry of Information, during the period from October 30 to November 4, 2025, shines a light on creativity in the field of short films, as a fertile space for experimentation and artistic expression.
