Some famous friends will be turning up for Michael B. Jordan when he receives the 39th annual American Cinematheque Award next month.
Ben Affleck, Ryan Coogler and Bradley Cooper are among those tapped to honor him. Oscar winners Daniel Kaluuya, Mahershala Ali and Octavia Spencer will also be part of the ceremony, with Delroy Lindo, Phylicia Rashad, Tessa Thompson and Rocky and Creed producer Irwin Winkler all taking the stage as presenters. Additionally, NBC Universal Entertainment and Studios chairman Donna Langley will present MPA’s Charles H. Rivkin with the Power of Cinema Award. The show will also feature a special musical performance by Miles Caton, Ludwig Göransson and Raphael Saadiq presenting “I Lied to You” from the film Sinners.
Jordan’s honor comes on the heels of his performance as twin brothers Smoke and Stack in Coogler’s critical and box office phenomenon Sinners earlier this year.
The awards ceremony is set for November 20 at the Beverly Hilton. The event is an annual fundraiser for the American Cinematheque, a nonprofit organization that has year-round programming at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica, Los Feliz 3 Theater in Los Feliz, and Egyptian Theater in Hollywood.
