Anime’s meteoric rise in global popularity this decade has not slowed down one bit, and it seems that growth has finally broken through to cinema. The film industry will certainly be taking note of recent trends, as well Deliver Me From Nowhere drastically underperformed industry expectations this weekend.

The Reze Arc movie has yet to release in China, but whenever it does, the film might just pass $200 million worldwide.

Chainsaw Man debuted in 2022 and despite becoming one of the most successful anime series of the year, the response from fans was largely mixed. While some in the industry viewed the series as a slight failure considering wildly high expectations, studio MAPPA returned to the drawing board, planning its next steps.

Nearly three years later, the Reze Arc movie has premiered with a certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with fans and critics praising the series’ new visual style, superb direction, and top-notch voice acting. Chainsaw Man‘s return has been wildly successful in every way, and its performance at the global box office is proving anime is here to stay.
