The artist Mahmoud Yasin was born on June 2, 1941, in Port Said, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ain Shams in 1964, and obtained his bachelor’s degree. He later went to work as a lawyer, but he felt that his artistic talent had stopped him, and he decided to join the National Theater after he passed the special tests and was rejected by the workforce in Port Said.

Mahmoud Yasin won more than 50 awards in various festivals in Egypt and abroad, among them: the acting award from the Tashkent Festival in 1980, the Arabic Cinema Festival in America and Canada in 1984, the Annaba Festival in Algeria in 1988, the State Award for War Films in 1975, the production award from the Ismailia Festival in 1980.

He was also elected the head of the jury for the Cairo Broadcasting and Television Festival in 1998 and the honorary president of the festival in the year 2001, 2002.

Akhtir Mahmoud Yasin was elected in 2005 by the United Nations as an ambassador of good intentions to combat poverty and hunger for humanitarian activities, to honor the great artist of love. في October 14 2020.
