Gayle King finally reveals where she stands with CBS after rumors of her leaving CBS Mornings surfaced on the internet on October 30, 2025.
King shut down the false reports of her departure once and for all. The news anchor firmly stated that she is not leaving the network and has no intention of doing so anytime soon. She told a reporter from TMZ that these reports could not be further from the truth:I am here and glad to be here.”
She put her foot down and explained that she would never reveal anything to the media about what goes on behind the scenes when it comes to her contracts. King also expressed a little disappointment regarding how people would jump to conclusions before any confirmation from her or CBS.

According to King, she currently has a wonderful relationship with CBS. Every statement to TMZ made it clear that she cares about her role and the people she works with, so neither party has any plans to cut ties with one another.
Rumors about King leaving her job of over a decade after her contract expires in May 2025 were first reported by Variety on October 30, 2025. The now-disputed news came in the midst of a major news shake-up after Paramount and Skydance Media merged. These assumptions were likely made due to the massive layoffs that occurred in the aftermath, as well as a change in management.
