The official spokesman of the Presidency of the Republic stated that the President emphasized at the beginning of the interview Egypt’s appreciation for the role of the International Atomic Energy Agency in supporting the nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament system, which contributes to the promotion of international peace and security, as well as increasing the use of peaceful uses of atomic energy, expressing appreciation for the ongoing efforts to expand the framework of cooperation between Egypt and the Agency.
Ambassador Mohamed Al-Shanawi, the official spokesman, added that the President emphasized that Egypt was always at the forefront of countries supporting the disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation system as it aims to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons, indicating that Egypt always emphasizes the need to establish a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East, and looks forward to strengthening the agency’s role in supporting the efforts of the international investigation of the Non-Proliferation Treaty, and the liberation of the Middle East from nuclear weapons. النشتو والتاريخي في مجالي نزع السعلم, والجهود التيتي بها في هذا الصدد.
