No Man’s Sky fans have been eagerly awaiting an announcement from developer Hello Games and creator Sean Murray ever since his post last week of a door emoji that sparked a wave of speculation about what could possibly be in the works. Fans might have their answer as of today.
In an exciting announcement this morning, No Man’s Sky officially just launched yet another massive free update, including a brand-new “Breach Expedition,” improved ship-building and new ship parts, base parts, infestations, and more.

NMS Breach Update Is Available To Download On All Major Platforms Now
Fans of No Man’s Sky are definitely not unaccustomed to surprise free content, with the massive Voyagers update released earlier this year that introduced Corvette ships into the universe, as well as the Worlds 2 update back in January. This newest Breach expansion builds on that previous free update, rolling out new Corvette ship parts, new base parts, and brand-new gameplay features like salvaging Corvette wreckage in open space.
The update also includes a brand-new Breach Expedition, or Expedition 20, which sends players through “the abandoned remains of ill-fated corvette ships, all ripe for scavenging ship modules to add to your corvette-building arsenal.” The Breach Expedition includes “a set of Atlas-themed modules,” and sends you on a journey to discover the fate of Fireship Arcadia.
The update includes a slew of other new features as well, including Infestations, a mysterious “Ghost Starship,” new base and Corvette module parts, and more spooky Halloween-themed additions. The Breach update is available for download on all major platforms now.
No Update From No Man’s Sky Developers On Light No Fire
There’s No New Info On The Next Big Hello Games Project
While many players were feeling hopeful that Sean Murray’s door emoji stunt was hinting at a new Light No Fire update, they’re going to have to settle for the Breach update to No Man’s Sky—at least for now. The doors in said post on social media were definitely referring to this Breach update, considering the door emoji in the update announcement appears right there at the top.
Even so, it’s hard to be disappointed by free content, especially after a year full of huge expansions to the epic space exploration game. While players are certainly excited about Light No Fire, this new Breach release will definitely keep them busy No Man’s Sky for the time being.
