MHA Promo Gives First Look at the Anime’s Final Fight, Deku vs Shigaraki

Stepping into My Hero Academia’s final season, the anime boasted two primary antagonists, All For One and Shigaraki Tomura. Although for a while it seemed like All For One would successfully eliminate All Might and head over to Shigaraki Tomura’s location, Katsuki Bakugo’s miraculous return saw the Bombshell Hero defeat the Demon King.

With that, at long last, the anime can now finally shift its focus back to the final battle between Izuku Midoriya and Shigaraki Tomura. The final battle is set to begin this Saturday with the release of My Hero Academia Final Season Episode 5, and the preview video for the same looks absolutely unreal.

My Hero Academia: Final Season’s Deku vs. Shigaraki Preview Looks Stunning

On Tuesday, October 28, days before the release of My Hero Academia: Final Season Episode 5, titled “History’s Greatest Villain,” the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account @heroaca_anime released its first final battle promo.

The promotional video mainly focuses on Deku and Shigaraki’s action sequences, as the two characters can be heard arguing over their ideals. Shigaraki questions Deku, asking him if he still views him as human. While others perceive the villain as ruin incarnate, Deku believes he is still human and wants to help him.

After seeing young Tenko Shimura cry, Deku refused to give up on the villain. Hence, no matter how many times Shigaraki Tomura destroyed, Deku believed that the boy who once cried was still somewhere inside him.

As opposed to that, Shigaraki believed that the boy who once cried had long since overcome his problems. The boy had now turned into him, and Shigaraki thought he was doing just fine.

The art and animation for these sequences looked stunning. Not only did Shigaraki look more menacing than ever, but even Deku appeared more determined. From these sequences, it seems crystal clear that Bones wants to put its best foot forward while adapting the franchise’s final battle.

However, the preview didn’t end at just that, as it built up the tension by showing the concerned faces of the supporting characters, such as Kota Izumi, Eri, Inko Midoriya, Tsuyu Asui, Denki Kaminari, Momo Yaoyorozu, Lady Nagant, and Toshinori Yagi, all rooting for Deku to win.

What to Expect From My Hero Academia: Final Season Episode 5?

As hinted at by the preview for the upcoming episode, My Hero Academia: Final Season Episode 5, titled “History’s Greatest Villain,” will see the fight between Izuku Midoriya and Shigaraki Tomura resume.

Amidst this, while All For One had disappeared, something horrible is set to happen. During his fight against Shigaraki Tomura, the villain will succeed in stealing one of the quirks belonging to a former One For All Quirk wielder.

Such a development will likely see Deku get worried about the other quirks and feel cornered. Hopefully, he will be able to come up with a new plan with the remaining One For All vestiges and find a way to defeat Shigaraki Tomura.
