Terrifier 3 has one of the highest upward movements for its IMDb user ratings score, with the score getting higher with each film. The first film has a score of 5.6 out of 10, the second has been awarded a 6.1, while the most recent movie is currently on 6.7.
Both Evil Dead 2 and 10 Cloverfield Lane outperformed its predecessors with return on investment, Metacritic, Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb scores.
Terrifier 3 released earlier this month on October 11, just in time for Halloween and for the spooky season.
The movie’s plot sees Sienna Shaw (portrayed by Lauren LaVera) striving to rebuild her life while Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) and his new sidekick Victoria Heyes (Samantha Scaffidi) are hot on her trail.
The first film opened to mixed reviews from critics who argued that there was a lack of plot and underdevelopment of the lead characters.
However, the second installment became a box office success and received positive reviews from critics, who pointed out the marginal difference in the sequel.
Fans of the franchise will be pleased to know that a fourth film is in the works, as confirmed by director Damien Leone. However, it is intended to be the conclusion of the franchise, with the stories of Art the Clown, The Little Pale Girl, Victoria Heyes and Sienna Shaw being resolved.
