Even though he’s moving to NBCUniversal, Taylor Sheridan is still working with Paramount. He’s going to write a movie adaptation of the popular video game Call of Dutyreports THR. Peter Berg, who’s directing the film, will be co-writing the project alongside Sheridan — the two are close friends and have worked together before on the movies Hell or High Water and Wind River. The duo will produce the film with David Glasser, who runs Sheridan’s production company 101 Studios. As one of the biggest video game franchises ever, Call of Duty is a huge win for Sheridan and Berg. The game is a first-person shooter that typically takes place in real-life war settings, like WWII and the Cold War; the series as a whole has sold over 500 million copies. Rumors of a COD movie have been swirling for the after 10 yearsbut plans for the film were put on hold in 2020 until Activision announced September 2025 that it would be working with Paramount Pictures. Technically, Sheridan’s movie contract doesn’t end with Paramount until next March, so at least he scored one more project with them before bowing out.
