General Engineer Kamel Al-Wizer, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, said that he is currently studying the implementation of the second phase of the fourth subway line, which runs 31.8 km and 21 stations (6 underground – 15 tunnels) in the tunnel route, then intersects with the sixth subway line “Al-Jari Drasteh” at the Sayeda Aaisha station, then extends to Basra Salah Salem, then Al-Nasr Road to Al-Azhar University, passing through Nasr City to exchange service with The monorail east of the Nile at the airport then continues in the southeast direction until it intersects with the ring road at the security complex and the police academy, then it extends east along the Sadat axis after the police academy in the upper path until the first gathering in New Cairo, passing through the residences of Al-Shabaab, Yasmin and Panfsaj, then it turns north, ending at the site of the Al-Omrah workshop for the fourth line, north of the intersection of the ring road with the Cairo / Al-Swiss road at the end of the second phase, which is planned to study the implementation of the branch Its future is up to the Cairo International Airport to exchange the service in the future with the fifth stage of the third line of the current metro.
The minister emphasized the importance of working around the clock and adhering to the timetable for the fourth metro line project, especially with its importance in connecting the city of the 6th of October and New Cairo with the subway network.
He explained that he offers a service for transporting passengers to areas with high population density in “Al-Haram, Al-Fasal, Al-Umaraniyah, Al-Jizah, Nasr City, Al-Azhar University, and Al-Qahira Al-Hadillah”.
He added that he is currently studying the implementation of the third phase of the line in the distance from the Al-Hadayeq station to Al-Hosri Square, which is 16.3 km long, to serve the population density along the route and to achieve the connection with the West Nile Monorail at the Al-Hosri station, as well as the implementation of the fourth stage of the line in the distance from the final station of the second stage to the capital airport station, which is 38.7 km long to connect with the LRT light train (Adlı Mansour – 10th of Ramadan – administrative capital).
