Dr. Hisham Abou Al-Nasr, the governor of Assiut, witnessed, on Monday, the activities of the scientific workshop under the title “Al-Fadaza and the sustainable development.. It is applicable to the future”, which was organized by the governorate of Assiut in cooperation with the Egyptian Space Agency under the leadership of Dr. Sharif Sediki, at the headquarters of Badr University in the new city of Nasser in the Western Highlands, in an event that is the first of its kind in Egypt.
The organization of the competition was organized in the framework of the vision of the governorate of Assiut to promote the scientific culture of the youth and students, and open new horizons for them to benefit from science and technology in the space, in the light of the close and continuous cooperation between the governorate and the various scientific and educational institutions of the state.
The presence of distinguished guests from executive leaders, academics, and students of universities and schools, headed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Manshawi, President of Assiut University, Dr. Mustafa Kamal, President of Badr University, Dr. Jamal Taj, President of Assiut University of Technology, and many mayors and faculty members of Assiut University, Badr, Sphinx, and many executive leaders of the governorate, ministers, managers, and others Members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, and more than 500 students and students from the students of the schools and universities.
The efforts of the Egyptian Space Agency in the service of sustainable development were also reviewed, and the role of space technology in supporting development plans in vital areas such as water, agriculture, education and health.
In his speech, the Governor of Assiut said, “We are proud to organize this scientific event for the first time in Egypt, and we are working to spread the benefits of it through the involvement of school students in direct educational activities with elite scientists, and we are keen to open the windows of knowledge and knowledge in front of our youth, and this workshop represents a new start for Assiut in the field of supporting innovation and technological education.
The governor added that we believe that the use of space technology in the fields of development has become an urgent necessity, especially in light of what the world is witnessing of environmental and societal challenges, and that is what makes this tool a strategic platform to support comprehensive development efforts in Egypt.
He expressed his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation between the Governorate of Assiut and the Egyptian Space Agency, confirming that the scholarship comes within the framework of the state’s vision to build the Egyptian human being, and represents an important step towards enhancing scientific and technical awareness among the youth of Egypt, and explained that an educational visit was organized for a group of students from various schools in the governorate, with the aim of introducing them to the state’s efforts in spreading scientific culture and enhancing their awareness of space, as they can transfer knowledge to their peers inside the schools.
On his side, Dr. Sharif Sedqi, CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, expressed his good fortune with the presence of the agency in the governorate of Assiut, and said, “We are here today to build a strong connection with the youth of Al-Saeed, and to impart knowledge and scientific expertise to them to be the basis for the future in the fields of space.”
Dr. Sharif Sedqi confirmed that space technology is no longer exclusive to developed countries, but has become a key tool to support development plans and improve the quality of life, and we hope that this workshop will be a starting point for extended partnerships with the governorate of Assiut and its universities and to expand the community’s knowledge base on space applications, indicating that the agency is eager to transfer its news to various governorates, and provide training and education programs for university students and those interested, pointing out that the workshop aims to spread scientific awareness وتعريف students and researchers with opportunities for training, education and cooperation with the agency, بما يفتاح افاقًا افاقًا في وريادة العمليكية.
