Only Murders In The Building Season 6 To Be Set In London

Only Murders in the Building is planning to leave the United States and head overseas next season. The Only Murders in the Building cast is led by Steven Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. It is set in New York City and films there as well.

Only Murders in the Building took a detour, however, during its fourth season when the characters traveled to Los Angeles after a film studio expressed interest in adapting the podcast for the screen.

According to Deadlineif Only Murders in the Building is renewed for a sixth season (which has not been officially announced yet), it will take place in London. While not confirmed, the end of the season 5 finale may tease why Only Murders in the Building characters will be traveling to Europe.

Another unknown is whether the entire season will take place in London or only part of the season. Los Angeles was only one location for Only Murders in the Building season 4, with New York still playing a central role.

If the next murder victim is discovered at the Arconia, Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora may have to travel to London as part of their investigation to discover who the killer is.

Unlike a lot of other modern streaming shows, Hulu releases a new season of Only Murders in the Building every year. However, every past season had already been renewed by this point in the year.

It’s unclear why the streaming service hasn’t announced season 6 yet, but presumably, an official renewal will come shortly after the Only Murders in the Building season 5 finale is released on October 28.

It’s possible that the show relocating to Europe next season could have delayed a renewal announcement, as the producers and executives finalize what is expected to be a major change for Only Murders in the Building.

Considering Only Murders in the Building is still a popular series with viewers and has a 95% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, there’s little question that the comedy will be renewed.

Aside from casting major stars like Martin, Short, and Gomez as series regulars, the casting department has managed to hire an impressive array of recurring actors and guest stars on Only Murders in the Building over the past five seasons, including Paul Rudd, Meryl Streep, Shirley MacLaine, Nathan Lane, Mel Brooks, Jane Lynch, Téa Leoni, Dianne Wiest, and Renée Zellweger.

With a move to London on the horizon, Only Murders in the Building has a great opportunity to cast some top-notch UK talent for season 6, which will likely be announced sometime over the next several months, assuming the show returns in the summer or fall of 2026.

The Only Murders in the Building season 5 finale will be released Tuesday, October 28 on Hulu.
