EXCLUSIVE: Emmy winner Murray Bartlett has found his next high-profile series as he is set to join the ensemble of Netflix’s All the Sinners Bleed. He joins the previously announced leading cast Xếpẹ́ Dirìsù, John Douglas Thompson, Nicole Beharie, Daniel Ezra and Andrea Cortes.
From Joe Robert Cole, who adapted SA Cosby’s novel of the same name for TV, All the Sinners Bleed follows Titus Crown (Dirìsù), the first Black sheriff in a small Bible Belt county. Haunted by his devout mother’s untimely death, he must lead the hunt for a serial killer who has been preying on his Black community for years in the name of God.
Bartlett will play Scott Cunningham, the chairman of the board of supervisors in the town.
Cole serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer, and he will direct the first and other episodes. Higher Ground Productions, Amblin Television and Cosby also executive produce.
Bartlett is best known for his breakout role in the first season of The White Lotus nor the hotel manager; the role would go on to land him an Emmy. He followed that up with another Emmy-nominated guest role in the first season of The Last of Us. He can be seen next in the A24 pic The Death of Robin Hood.
