weak policies and support: farmers face challenges due to lack of technical and financial support, as well as efforts by the authorities to boost wheat production The locality does not object to the difficulties in implementation and coordination.
Hani explained that the Ministry of Agriculture, as part of its strategy extending from 2026 to 2035, is working on a comprehensive plan to develop the wheat sector. Clear vision and measurable goals, in cooperation with local and international partners, to promote food security.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Agriculture’s scientific research department is responsible for the improvement and expansion of the agricultural sector. But with the economic crisis, the support of the Ministry of Finance stopped, which led to the cessation of the series.
And in this frame, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) entered to provide direct support through the distribution of al-wheat seeds to small farmers, In addition to supporting technology and training to enable them to apply good agricultural practices, and to motivate them to contribute locally to ensure continuity
Also, the United Nations Development Program works in cooperation with the German Development Bank on the project to revive the chain of expansion. in cooperation with the research authority, where the last year was produced by the reliable seeds of the wheat, the wheat, the wheat, and the hay.
