“This is so cute and feminine. Feels soft and warm. Love the colors and design. Very flattering,” explained an enchanted cardigan collector, who added that, “It is short, but with the right coordinates, it looks great. I’m keeping this one.”

Leave it to Gap to make a comfy, slouchy turtleneck that you’ll want to curl up next to the fire with a cup of hot cocoa. It’s soft and snuggly, with a faux-mohair knit and a slightly longer tunic length. The black and white contrasting Fair Isle pattern just adds to its charm. Looking for a more classic fit? Gap recommends going down one or two sizes.

If you prefer an all-over Fair Isle pattern, this option is a sure-fire winner. It comes in three colors, although we’re partial to this “rich mom” mix of neutrals. It’s a heavyweight, so you can wear it with your ski pants for added warmth as you zoom down the mountain or pop it on with a pair of jeans to keep warm at the local tree-lighting this holiday season.

Here’s another glam option in the season’s hottest hue: mocha brown. The cardigan is adorned with a light pink and red pattern, a preppy collar and blingy rhinestone buttons. Wear it on a night out to the local tavern or with a sequin skirt to a holiday party.

Or as one Fair Isle fanatic suggested: “Gorgeous with my white slacks and a light, white-collared shirt. My fave sweater!”

Maximalists, fall in love with this busier (in the best possible way!) all-over pattern. The slightly cropped fit falls at your waistline, so it won’t overwhelm even petite sizes. Pair it with sparkly, silver hoop earrings and leather pants for date night or jeans and snow boots for a walk in the powdery snow.

“The fabric is soft and warm, and I really like the subtle glints from the Lurex threads woven throughout,” said one cozy convert. “It elevates it a bit from an ordinary sweater. Looking forward to wearing this all winter long….. To quote my husband, ‘That’s a winner!’”

If you’re already planning your holiday looks, include this festive red pick. The pretty Fair Isle print features white poinsettias (or snowflakes, however you want to interpret it) that can cheer up any outfit. Wear it with red corduroys or red satin pants for an easy, elevated monochromatic outfit or over your jammies on Christmas morning. If that hue isn’t your jam, it comes in a number of other colors.
