Star Wars: Visions season 3 has critics and audiences deeply divided on Rotten Tomatoes. Each season of the animated Disney+ anthology series features nine different episodes, each of which has a different story, cast of characters, and animation style.
Season 3 is the first time that the television series has continued any of the stories it started, with three of the nine episodes respectively following up on “The Duel”, “The Village Bride”, and “The Ninth Jedi” episodes from season 1. As with past seasons, Visions season 3’s reviews have been overwhelmingly positive.
While critics have awarded Visions a 100% Tomatometer score, the Popcornmeter score is far lower at 68%. The critical score is based on 16 reviews and the audience comes from 12 reviews, meaning both scores may change as more are added.
Even though critics and audiences have largely aligned in their reviews of some others Star Wars shows, including Andorthis divide is consistent with Visions seasons 1 and 2. Season 1 has a 96% critical and 66% audience score, season 2 has a 100% critical and 61% audience score, and the overall scores for the series are 98% and 64%.

Given the show’s past reception, the divide in season 3’s scores is unlikely to change, although more reviews may make the divide slightly less narrow. As with past seasons, a point of contention is Visions not being part of the Star Wars canon, which is frustrating for some and refreshing for others who enjoy the unlimited creative opportunities that the animation studios have in their storytelling.
Being an anthology show inevitably elicits a mixed reception as well. Audience reviews range from hailing Visions neither “Star Wars at its absolute best” and that “this season is spectacular” to call it forgettable, pointlessand one even claiming that there is “only one episode worth watching.”
Despite the ongoing divide between critical and audience reception, Visions is set to further expand beyond season 3 with the spinoff series Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi. Season 3’s “The Ninth Child: Jedi of Hope” acts as a Star Wars backdoor pilot, further setting up Lah Kara’s search for her father and her destiny as a Jedi with a strong connection to the Force. The spinoff is slated to debut in 2026.
f Star Wars: Visions gets renewed for season 4, it will most likely be released in 2027. The series has been released on a schedule of every other year, with season 1 in 2021, season 2 in 2023, and season 3 in 2025.
