She’s back when we needed her most. Hilary Duff announced her return to music with her first single in 10 years, “Mature,” out this Thursday, November 6. “So happy this is finally yours to hear. Been keeping this one quiet too long,” Duff shared on Instagram, announcing the title and artwork. Duff focused on acting for the last decade, starring in Younger and also the lead in How I Met Your Father. She also has a new team working alongside her since her last single, “Spark.” The Metamorphosis singer is working with her husband, music producer Matthew Koma, on upcoming songs. “I always knew I was going to return to music. I needed to feel safe and I needed to have the right people in my corner and be absolutely 100% ready,” Duff told Variety on October 26. “Honestly, I needed to have 10 years of life under my belt. I needed a lot to say. This album feels like the inner workings of my brain and I really am so excited to connect with people again on that level, that very forward-facing level.” Finally, I can retire my weekly rewatch of Duff singing “9 to 5” on Younger to satisfy the need for more of her music. Okay, maybe not retire fully.

Music isn’t the only thing coming soon from the Disney Channel legend. She’s working on a docuseries focused on her personal life and her return to the studio. There’s no word on when the doc will come out, and it probably won’t be a while, considering Duff’s return to music is still happening. But we do know that it is directed by Sam Wrench, who worked on Sabrina Carpenter’s A Nonsense Christmas special and Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert movie. Safe to say she’s in good hands.
