A recent American study revealed a simple and effective way to help people get rid of stress and anxiety instead of using drugs.

The study explained that the positive feelings exchanged with the partner reduce stress hormone levels and have a positive effect on psychological health, according to

“Lintha Roo”.

The study included 321 elderly couples from Canada and Germany, and over the course of a whole week, the participants submitted multiple daily reports to the researchers, including data on their mood (such as the awareness of happiness, calmness, or attention), in addition to providing saliva samples for analysis of cortisol (stress hormone) levels.

And the results revealed that the shared and simultaneous positive emotions lower the levels of cortisol (stress hormone) more than the individual emotions, and this effect continued throughout the day, keeping the body calm and reducing tension.

The researchers confirmed that mutual positive feelings benefit the psychological state, regardless of the degree of satisfaction with the relationship, and the couple felt the least happiness as a result.

Also, sharing joy with a life partner may be the simplest form of health and mental care.
