The oil minister is discussing with the president the speeding up of gas transfer programs from Qatar to Egypt

The discussion of Engineer Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, with Claudio Descalzi, CEO of the Italian company “İni” and one of the largest investors in the energy sector in Egypt, to continue joint work to accelerate the implementation of programs and plans for exploration and production in the company’s areas of operation, especially in the Mediterranean.

This came according to the minister’s statement today, during a series of two-way meetings with the leaders of major global energy companies at the “Adibek 2025” conference in Abu Dhabi.

The minister pointed out that the “Zhor” right represents a basic pillar in the natural gas production system in Egypt, where it contributes to 25% of the total local production, considering the recent positive results in the new well drilling works, and confirming the state’s desire to provide a stable and attractive exploitation environment and reduce any challenges in front of the partners in order to increase production rates.

And in the framework of Egypt’s efforts to strengthen its position as a regional center for energy trading and trading, the minister made the last agreement regarding the employment of the Egyptian infrastructure for the transportation of gas to Egypt.

He pointed to the readiness of the Egyptian facilities to receive gas from the Kronos field, confirming the continued coordination between Egypt and Cyprus and investment partners in the field, with the support and support of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his Cypriot counterpart Nikos Christodoulidis.
