Dr. Mohamed Al-Shazli, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, spoke about the new sports law and its final release date.
Al-Shazli said: “I haven’t finished amending the new sports law completely yet, we are in the preparation and drafting stage, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Sports, since assuming responsibility in 2018, confirmed that Law 71 of 2017 is good but needs to be added and we are not working on it now”.

And follow: “The House of Representatives is the only party to introduce the legislation, and it will be present during the community dialogue after the completion of the drafting of the law, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Prime Minister are not responsible for making amendments or receiving proposals regarding the new law for sports, and the House of Representatives is the party responsible for it.”
He added: “There have been previous meetings held for a long time and attended by the late General Farouk, the former Deputy President of Al-Ahly, and Saad Shalabi, the Executive Director of Al-Ahly and the great presidents of clubs and unions to discuss the new sports law.”
He explained: “When the Al-Ahly club issued the first statement, we responded to it with an official letter, that the ministry is in the final stages of drafting the law and did not finish preparing for the discussion in the community discussion, and we threatened the Al-Ahly club with the community discussion after the completion of the drafting of the sports law, and we did not protect the drafting of the statements issued by some clubs”.
He said: “One of the clubs sent to the ministry to obtain a copy of the new law for sports and there was opposition to the protocol because he issued a statement for public opinion before the address to the prime minister, even though he addressed 1,200 people. This is not a difficult situation, and we assume that the ministry agreed with Al-Ahli or the clubs as a whole to cancel the 8-year clause, and then the parliament rejected it, will it be for Al-Ahli or any party to object?!”
He pointed out: “There is no right for any council to do voluntary work, because the work is required for a certain period of time, and when I receive an official answer from the International Olympic Committee, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi was present on the 14th-15th in Algiers at the meetings of “Anoka” with the presence of the President of the International Olympic Committee and explained to him that there is a welcome to the new amendments to the sports law.”
